I was wondering if you could send me a high-res pic of your new tail lights. I like the Lightning tails, but am not sure if I like them enough on the DSG enough to fork out that much cash for them.

I've looked around but have not seen a pic that answers my thoughts.

I think they go even better with the DSG than the black, but they look awsome on both and even better in person.

 

I've had no luck finding anything in my area. I've been looking for any gray ford truck with the lightning tails, just to get an idea...all I find is black.

Question about Teknics truck: It looks like the bed rail caps were removed. Is this easy to do? I was looking at mine and they're on pretty good, but didn't get a chance to mess around with them.

I want to take mine off when I get a tonneau but am afraid of what it may look like underneath. Especially if I wait 6 months.

If you still have a pic you can send I'd love to see a higher resolution picture. I did check out your gallery as well as a few others. It's just hard to see because so much detail is lost on the upload.

 

I'm especially curious as to what the lightning tails look like against the DSG. It's hard for me to tell in the pics on here if the tails lighten up the truck too much. I think they look sweet on the black, just not sure of the DSG.

Most pics I see are at an angle, or the light hits a certain way and the DSG is a different shade. Most noticeably in any DSG picture, you don't see the metallic paint. I think that is the key for me. I'm probably being way too picky. Anything's better than the stock tails!

I don't want you guys to run out and snap a picture for me.
I would just love to see a high-res version of one you have. Even your sig picture would be great!

 

Sorry, DerMaestro, I forgot all about getting you a pic. Is your email setup on the forum or do you have an email address to send you a couple pics? I can zip them up for you and email you if you want. Not sure if it will answer your questions but it might help.

IMO, they look great on the DSG. I've had a lot of compliments on them.

BTW, you could also check out the link ChesterC has in the Pics from the NorCal BAHDFOG meet thread. His link has the hi-res pics from our meet and there might be one or 2 of my lights there.

 

Nope, they are still on there. The tonneau cover just covers the bedcaps. There are clips underneath the bedrails that hold them on though, but usually clips break when you take them off, and it looks like crap under them. a bunch of holes, and ridges and channels. Better off leaving them on, unless you do like cobra did and get the street scenes smooth bed caps that replace the stock ones and are stuck on with double sided tape

I tried using the link of pictures from you meet but the server is really slow. I'm on a cable modem here and have trouble connecting for some reason.

As for the bedcaps, I might replace them in the long run. I really don't like the ones that are on there. One of the few things on the truck I don't like. They just don't seem to match the truck.
