Question Bosch Plugs

Anyone tried the new Bosch Plus Four? Have 6#, Flip Chip, K&N, and running NGK but am not happy with having to change them as often. Checked the L forum and haven't been able to find anything.

aren't those the platinum plugs?

platinum plugs are a big NO-NO for supercharged/turbocharged/nitrous engines..

i use denso iridium plugs in my lightning... they are great!

Hey Clonetek....I didn't know that. Would you mind telling us why you shouldn't use platinum plugs on Supercharged engines?

Thanks!

i read it on eaton's site a while back.. cant find the link now tho..
i'll look for it.

platinum plugs aren't good for high performance engines.. ford puts them in because they last 100k miles..

Thanks, Clonetek. Yeah, I knew they put them in for their long life so they can claim no tune ups for 100k miles.

Just theorizing here, but I guess maybe they do not have as hot a spark as other plugs which might make the platinums last longer but are not as efficient for high performance engines.

Anyway, if you find the link I would be interested in reading it.

Thumbs up

clonetek,
Thnx. I will try the Iridiums. Found out from Bosch distributor that they haven't made +4s for the SC'ed engine yet. He said ... on the way. I guess it's supposed to deliver long-life AND performance ... I thought those things were mutually exclusive! I would be interested to learn more about why platinums are a "hi-po NO-NO", as well.
