Unhappy AC blower goes wild!

Have any of you experienced the blower fan going to a really high speed when turning it on or transitioning from vent to AC? I don't really think it's normal but I thought I would check with you guys. I like to have some ammunition when I take it into the dealer. I would appreciate any responses on the issue!
Thanks,
Bart

Sounds like you are in Automatic climate control mode. If you are in Automatic and set to vent and have the temp set low (60 degrees) the blower will come on high if it is warm outside to try to cool down the truck. The same will happen when setting the temp high and it is cold outside.

I usually set the temp then manually move the fan dial to a different speed which is comfortable for me.

Sounds normal to me.

It all depends on the current outside temp and interior temp.
As BillP posted, the truck will try to get to the "set" temperature as quick as it can, thus a quick blast of the fan. Eventually as the temps balances out, it will slow down.
