Saw this pic when i was looking through some L guy's galleries. i think this was in tampasvt's gallery. i posted over there to see if anybody had a full shot pic so i can see how the flames look on the flareside. could be a very tempting mod!

kinda hard to tell, but those dont look like the stick on stripes from the 02 cuz i can't see any edge lines, but it may be the angle. i wonder what it would cost to get a set painted on?




*edit* the more i look at that pic, the more i get thinking it may be the decals. Somebody said they are precut? Take a look above his door handle. its either a defect in the pic, or a break in the stripe. Makes sense that it would occur there, because the fender piece should fit right on, then the door piece would be too short cuz the screw's doors are a little shorter, and would stop right about where that break is. then just use the flame piece on the bed and the flames would probably end about 6" earlier than on the screw? what do you guys think? I'm kinda tempted. LoL talk me out of it! lol

is it a L, is it a HD, is it a regular f150? nobody knows its got so many different parts on it

 

Definately an L

When I first looked I thought they were also painted on before even reading your post. But who knows...your evidence could point to the fact that they are decals because the flames start early.

what makes you so sure its a L?
its got the 01 HD valance, 01 HD grille, 02 HD stripes, and L badging and ground effects, different rims than L or HD, and looks higher than the L next to it

Josh they are decals look at the reflection on the bed see how it goes dull plus as you say you can see the join, but it's something that I have thought about now how much is a set ?

 

Get to the bottom of this for us man, you're pretty good at that kinda stuff, I'd like to know exactly what it is!

 

I'm going to email him tomorrow (the guy who owns the truck) and find out for sure and try and see if he can send me some more pics. I'm almost 100% positive now that i think about it that they are the decals. A set came in teh mail along with my L 3rd brakelight to my house today for a friend of mine for his black screw (and i mean all black, black grille, rims, and only color will be the stripes) and they are precut, so the break above the door handle would make sense.

as for price? ford will screw you for 200 a side. My friend got them for 250 from the same guy i get my stuff from at dealer price. still alot though, but its got me thinking

 

It's a decal, look at the stripes between the cab and bed. The bed stripe is taller where he left out all of the stripe that would on our rear door. Because the stripe gets wider as it goes to the back.

 

yeah, here's a few more pics. it ends too early IMO. If i did anything, i'd get some custom ones made so that they fit right.

I still think it's an L with a bunch of HD stuff. Look at the seats...he even left the L badging on. We all know it's not an HD because they only came as supercab and supercrew.

yeah it is a L, but with the 1st two pics i posted, you couldn't see the seats in the truck, only saw the front end with HD emblems, HD grille, HD valance, different rims. Usually L guys don't do all that swapping of the parts for HD stuff, and the L emblems aren't hard to stick on in place of f150 ones, so thats why i was questioning it. never said it wasn't possible. When i emailed tampa i found out it was a L then, and got those pics from a L board

 

You can definately see the seats in the second pic and the shape of them in the first. Maybe he's an HD fan who likes really FAST trucks. But the pics look different b/c in one he has the L badges on the left side and one of the later pics he has an HD badge.
