I just put on the new wheels, they look SWEET on the black L. I could not be more pissed at how flimsy and breakable these POS center caps are! They are the 2002 style, and those plastic wedges (the one's that hold the cap actually on the wheel) are so freakin thin, I snapped 2 of them off allready while handling those POS's. I can see i'm going to have to order several more of these extremely fragile POS center caps for the future .

I was also told these wheels are made in the USA, from The Wheel Exchange. On the back of the center cap it says (made in china). I hope the wheels are not from freakin china! Plus the center caps have the rivits, but not the harley emblem in the center? Just blank in the center?

Last reply , If the OEM caps are more sturdy, (the one's I were promised originally). Then I will get on the phone and have them send me a different set. All replies are appreciated .

i've taken my center caps off about 8 times already i would say, and none of the tabs have broken, and they are pretty sturdy i think. the fake ones are probably really cheap i guess. the oem ones have a metal ring along the ends of teh tabs, does the replica ones have those?

post some pics of the new rims already!

They have the metal ring, but it is not held in place in one of the caps because 2 of the plastic things broke. The cap still goes on flush, but not with that same snugness. I'm going to call them tommorrow morning and have them send me out a new one. I'll try to borrow my bro's dig camera this weekend and post a pic. It looks freakin awesome!

When I picked up mine from the dealer, I noticed one of the center caps was not all the way on, so I pushed it, it would not snap in. Turns out the dealer broke half the tabs on all the caps, they replaced all of them. Note, the caps coming through from Ford are shipped in plastic bags from the warehouse, some of them are marked up on the plastic chrome. This is truly a poor design. My last truck, the center caps were all metal and snapped in fine.

Question '02 Caps

I have an '02. The caps that came on the truck have the seven faux allen bolts (rivits?) with an out-of-scale (compared to real Milwaukee H-D logo) plain flat chrome bar-and-shield H-D logo in the center. Is this what's coming from the factory on '02s and later? I like the real embossed H-D logo with "Harley-Davidson Motor Cycles" lettering. If I can find them, I assume they will fit? ... do they have the allen bolt "rivits"?

Harley356,

I have been busy. Heck the HD stay filthy too. Just can't seem to get caught up. I am ready for the pulley change that clonetek has, just haven't taking the time to order a chip yet. I would love to be in the 13s soon, at least before spring and warmer weather arrive.

Thumbs up

I just got off the phone with The Wheel Exchange. They said the caps sent were just temporary because they were out of the OEM harley caps. He said they would be there monday, and he's air shipping them to me. This is a great place to deal with. nothing but excellent, profesional, honest service from the start. I highly recommend them to all.

sounds good. post pics when you get a chance.
then you'll just have to get those vinyl inlays like mysterfan has on his center caps so it says Harley Davidson on them

I actually try to not show any harley badges/emblems anywhere on the truck. I'm not even crazy about the lightning badging. All i like to see is black and chrome. Dont get me wrong, i own a 82' sportster, and think your trucks are hot . but for me, the less ford/lightning/harley badges/stickers - the better
