Blackwood Trim installed

I know a lot of people have been interested in the chrome trim from the Blackwood. Here is a picture of it installed on my truck. Check out my gallery for more pics.

Looks great. So did you get the parts from the dealer or elsewhere?

If you don't mind me asking...what did the parts end up costing ya?

That looks real nice - I too would be interested in the cost and place of purchase.

I bought three of the handles used from salvage yards and the driver's side handle with keyless entry from fordpartsonline (fpo). I give a detailed explanation of the install on FTW's Harley Davidson forum "A Great Mod". Believe me, its detailed and very long explanation.

As far as cost, the chrome weather strips cost me a total of $215 from fpo, but a guy on FTW said he could get the parts for $170, which is the cheapest I have heard of with extensive searching. The handles cost roughly $150 give or take. I bought most of them separately, so I am not sure. If you can find them used and in good condition, this is the best way to go, because you will have to take the rear handles apart anyways.

Hey cpharley2001,
People have different tastes. I don't like the handles. Next time I'll ask permission to post my opinions.

I agree...the trim is nice - I am pondering whether to purchase myself... Is this the same that comes on the gator?

chill guys. with anything you post on the boards you should be ready for a little criticism. he didn't say it looked like crap or anything, just he didn't care for it. no harm in that
St Louis Lightning couldn't have said it better though. more chrome doesn't necessarily mean better. The original concept that ford designed up had all that chrome stuff. chrome handles, mirror caps, bumpers, etc. Willie-g wanted a more monochromatic look and not so much chrome. at a point it gets too much. The window sills look good. not crazy about the handles though either. but hey, thats what makes all our trucks unique.

Wow, I didn't realize that my response would be taken that way. I was just saying that no one has ever said they didn't like the handles til now. Most people's response was just the opposite. I was not suggesting that you or anyone else who doesn't care for them has a terrible opinion. You do have a right to post your opinion and I wasn't trying to suggest otherwise. I love the way the chrome sets the truck apart. I am a chrome guy, that is why I drive a Harley Davidson truck. I know Harley356 and others like less chrome. That is what meets their tastes and yours and I didn't and don't care that you post to say so. I apologize if my response was perceived negatively!!!
