I have a 6lb JDM lower... Given the chance again, I would get one of the lowers from REM or a similar product. They have a changeable outer ring for quick size changes. They are cageless pulleys. The JDM is a caged pulley like the factory unit. At first, I was a hardcore believer in the cage being there to take stress off of the crank. I have done quite of bit of reading since then and I can't find a single modified lightning that has had problems due to sideloading after loss of stock support cage so I have basically decided that cageless would be fine.

If I ever change sizes again, I will buy one of the REM type pullies. I know there are a couple of other tuners that carry that same pulley. Maybe LFP?

The 50 shot of juice would be nice but I need to know a lot of things about it before I proceed. For instance, can I run a 50 shot without having to flip my chip to a new setting or will I have to go back and forth? Can I get a 15lb bottle in the rear center console? A 100 shot uses .8lb of nitrous every 10 seconds. Does that mean a 50 shot uses exactly half that? And on and on...

I will be talking with Paul at Razor's Edge next week concerning this issue. I might back down to a 4lb with the juice... Just don't know yet.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Ken

Ken,
I'd be interested in what you find out about it too. I have the 6lb from REM and have been contemplating what to do next. I don't know if I want to do suspension or more engine mods.

Ken,
Yeah, he did the diablo, intake, pulley, and valvebody for me.
I was shocked at the difference the mods made. I had it done all at one time so I don't know what the individual effect of each mod would be.... the NOS has really got me curious though.
When I originally started talking to him he had a HD in his shop he had put NOS on, it looked like a pretty sweet setup.

If I might offer some advice...A 50 shot (wet )will work well for you.
However you will need some sort of flip chip, colder set of plugs.Ngks T-R6s work well for me gapped at .40 and there not too expensive. This set up works well because it will cool the intake charge from the n20 being sprayed. As far as using a pulley I use a 5# uncaged and this works well also. This whole setup has worked for 20,000 dailey driven miles.Hope this helps and good luck whatever you decide..

Id think that going one range colder plug would be a bit overkill for only a 50 shot...you will wind up fouling them as they wont get hot enough to burn off the deposits.

The truck already makes 300+hp ...so we are talking about a less than 20% increase in HP.

Id certainly take a degree or two of timing out at WOT(probably have to have a chip burned to do this)...but colder plugs for a 50 shot would be REALLY on the safe side
