Can anyone confirm that there is a $2000 rebate on '02 HDs?

(Please don't tell me which you think I should get. I've read this board and a few others, so I am aware of the pros and cons of both).

I am at a point where I can't decide on whether I want an HD or a Lightning. I currently have a Reg Cab Chevy (oh no, the "c" word...shhh) that I have had for 2 1/2 years, so I know that I can live with a reg cab. However, I looked at a 2002 HD yesterday and thought that if I was gonna spend the money, I might want to think 3-4 years down the road and what my needs might be then. 4 seats and a sunroof are awfully appealing. The salesman "didn't know" if the rebate was on the HDs, but we could find out if I "went inside". No thanks, not ready to be TO'd to the Sales Mgr. Anyways, according to Edmunds, there is a $2000 rebate on the HDs. This would bring the price difference between an HD and a lightning to less than $2000 (with X Plan which the dealer will do and no ADM of $2500), which is well worth it for the extra room. Just wondering if anyone else can confirm this. BTW, I am in te Florida Panhandle (Pensacola, to be exact). Thanks!!

Typically the rebates exclude specialty vehicles like Ls and HDs but I've heard where some guys have got the dealer to give them low interest and/or rebates. The last commercial regarding factory rebates/financing from Ford specifically said it excluded HDs.

They may be offering the rebates now on remaining stock since the 03s will be arriving soon.

Lrutt,

Was it from a local dealership or from Ford itself? I want to be armed to the teeth with price info BEFORE I walk into the dealership. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Don't remember, I tossed it. I seem to think it was from Ford. I didn't really notice any dealer info on it. I was more looking for it to say something about a special offer on an 03. I might have thought about that.

It's 1000 on 02's or special financing. Go here to see the details-http://www.fordvehicles.com/features/news/detail/index.asp?ID=219&bhcp=1

Lrutt,
Thanks anyways. I was just hoping that it might be a Florida or Southeast US incentive.

N2TRUX,
I appreciate the link. I can't seem to get a straight answer out of the local dealership on whether it is $1000 or $2000 (maybe a regional thing?). I am going to call some dealers within 100 or so miles and see what I can find out.

Anyone know when the '03s are gonna hit the lots?

N2TRUX is right, my friend and client is the GM at Bluebonnet ford, and its 1000 or special financing for Harley Davidson, I think the 2000 is for supercrew excl. HD. I could ask him to look into it if you want me to.

HEHATEME,
If you would be so kind as to check with your buddy on this, I would be grateful. I wonder if the incentive will change on Nov 1st?

The 03's have $1500 cash or special financing

4DoorLghtning,

That is exactly what I am trying to determine...whether Edmunds is correct. According to Ford's website the rebate is only $1000, but then Edmunds has been on the money as far as invoice pricing on the last 3 vehicles I have purchased. Any guys who work for a Ford dealership here?

Not sure

I just got off the phone with a dealer (still trying to buy my HD) and they offered invoice + the $1000 cash back which came to around $32,400 - pretty much X-plan and $1000 cash back.

I was really hoping to find someone wanting to move one off the lot and come lower, but its not looking like that will happen.
