Simple but good results.

2. Lot's of Viper microfiber towels
3.a. Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover - if needed
3.b. Klasse AIO
4. Klasse SG - 2 coats
5. Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel
6. Mother's Back to Black for the black trim
7. Meguiar's Quick Detailer Mist

thanks for the compliment Josh! stop by anytime
I've been having fun with my camera lately and I will soon get a tripod for it. I took of my front licence plate holder this weekend and the truck looks waaaay sharper without it!

Learned something new again from here, Mothers Mag and Alum Polish for the wheels. Normally I just blast them with the power washer and sponge the dirt out.

yeah, maybe i'll drive out to CA tomorrow. LoL.

now ya just need to get the billet lower grille insert and the front will really be set off!

O yeah, with the mothers stuff, make sure you get the mag and aluminum polish, not the chrome polish. i tired that stuff and it was worthless. The mag and aluminum polish is a paste. I usually do all the chrome (rims, nurfbars, and exhaust) and then go back and buff it off. If it doesn't dry all the way, it'll just smear around, so it makes it easier to do it all at once, then go back and buff it off

o yeah, another tip...DON"T use blue magic chrome polish. i got a free sample of that at one show, and it smells like ammonia so you get a huge headache, and the stuff is the biggest PITA to buff off the rims. Took me like 3 or 4 days to get the majority of it off so the rims were nice and shiney again. It just kept smearing around and kept leaving a blue tinted film. I still had slight blue residue film on my rims 2 months after i used the stuff. Might be good for winter months though with the road salt because you know its protecting your rims, but its a pain to buff off!

Lower billet would be nice for x-mas.
Good tip on the wheel polish Josh. Thanks.

BillP: Did you get your Cali Duster locally or via the web?

With regards to tire shine, I use a foam type applicator that's shaped to the sidewall of the tire. Don't have a name for it. It's one part hard foam for the handle and soft foam for the sidewall applicator. I got it at Kragen for like 2 bucks a pair. Is that same applicator you guys are using?

billp, didn't your mom telll you don't make fun of people with obvious mental disorders? i've got like OCD over my truck just kiddin. at least thats what everybody thinks when they constantly see me out there cleaning the truck, and under the truck, and every single part of the truck i can reach, even if i can't see it. LoL!

gotta have somethign to do when its raining out, or snowing out and i can't work on the truck...so i made my detailing box and wash bucket so they matched the truck. LoL. even threw on a few coats of wax.

chester, i'm pretty sure the applicator you're talking about is the same one i use. The handle part is dense yellow foam, and the curved part is squishier black foam? its the eagle one tire swipes. here's a pic. they work great cuz they fit the low profile tires just right.

here's a link to buy them from there...

Wow, Josh, even waxed the detail box...maybe I wasn't kidding about you being a sick puppy!

You sound like my dad. He waxes everything. Even waxed his propane tank in the back yard that serves his house! Pretty sick, huh?

well i'm also cheap in addition to partially crazy, insane, too much spare time, and any other disorders i appear to have I used the cheapo wax from free sample packets i accumulated from a few shows, cuz i'm too cheap to waste the zaino on my detailing box,,,or is that too smart to waste the zaino on just a tool box LoL!

ok... I was at my local auto shop today to get some cleaning supplies. I picked up a chamois cloth and the mother's alum and chrome polish.

The polish is ok ,it took longer than usual but the results in my opinion were not spectacular but better than not using any polish at all.

I also found out that you need a lot of this chamois to dry the beast, and these things are not cheap . I was cheap and experimenting so I only bought the smallest one. I was thinking it will be like the absorber. It took me like 3 passes to dry the truck and there was still a few streaks. I finished it off with micro fiber towels.

just my 2 cents.

Chamois

I've always been a chamois guy, that is, until recently. Once the chamois gets dirty, it's not worth using.

My wife picked up a product called Baja Sol PVA Sponge Cloth and this thing works like a charm. It's way more absorbent than a regular chamois and dries without streaks.

It's also machine washable, so if you do get it dirty, it's easy to take care of, unlike a regular chamois.

Even works great on the glass!
