Just a complimentary shout to say that I feel your truck is the most tastefully done ride on the forum. My '00 is bone stock and will most likely stay that way unless I hit the Lotto. Granted the lights make a big difference but I can't see throwing $500+ at a truck I only drive 5000 miles a year.
I've got over $20,000 tied up in my scooter to date, and a sweet '70 Nova SuperSport to play with when time allows so I'm pretty satisfied with the truck as is. My wife is very supportive of my affinity for trick vehicles and I don't want to ruin a good thing.
Keep up the good work on the F150 and continue to enjoy that beautiful truck.
Later,
Mike

thanks for the compliment FXDX!!! I appreciate all the good words, but i do have to admit, there are alot of other really sweet HD's on this board, i guess they just aren't as much of a pic ***** as me
Its only been in the past few months that i've just really gotten hit by the mod bug. Before june, all i had was a bugguard, headlight adn taillight covers, floor mats, and ventvisors. Since then i've gotten a 2" rear drop, dressed up the engine a bunch, and its no where near done yet (going to get some tinman billet pieces over the winter, and smooth and paint the plastic pieces), ram air hood with custom grilles, custom tonneau inserts, new head/taillights, getting a clarion 8" sub from a fellow member on here, and maybe 2 ghost flames on the hood and painted pinstripe and a bedrug this spring. And i have something really cool up my sleeve for a little later once i save up some money, but its hush hush for now
Anyway, i've been working alot and saving up for a long while, and wanted to have something a little more to show for it (not to mention great deals on most of my mods doesn't hurt. LoL)Just too bad the judges at shows don't think the way you do. LoL. I might go to another one this weekend, so wish me luck. LoL
and thanks again!
Yea Josh, I've watched your truck build progress while lurking here. I really dig the hood and matching scoop grilles as well as the lights. I may just have to pop for the drop shackles only to put the stance right, but aside from that I can't justify much more.
We're just reaching completion of a 30x50' garage for toy storage and my paint shop which I've waited over 20 years for. I will finally have a place to practice my passion of restoration of classic muscle cars and high end paint, the likes that folks around here aren't very accustomed to. A small select clientel is all I need to fuel my desire to provide such a service. The shop is not quite yet up and running (only lacks heat), and I've got a years worth of work booked in advance. My reputation preceeds me in a positive light, in this arena anyway.
I'm hoping that our trucks will hold thier value and the miles will always be low on mine since I've got a company truck for work.
I visit my Cousins in Skillman, NJ from time to time and we're all car heads. Haunt the cruise nights in Somerville and Freehold. While at Somerville last year we saw an '00 H-D F150 adorned with rubber ducks from stem to stern. An eccentric elderly gentleman sporting a tophat was the owner. It was sacrelage what this dude did to this truck. It was a random act of bastardization of a fine piece of machinery. I wonder if you or any others here have seen this truck. The Duckman ran with another bird that had a '49 or '50 drop top Merc in red oxide primer with a skull theme and neon underneath. This duo was too much!

cool, post some pics of the shop when its all finished. sounds pretty cool. wish i had a garage
Right now they are down a little bit (not as much as a pain f150 though) but i think that after the HD series is over, that the values will go back up. Someday i want to collect one of each HD, and have the entire series. I'm also trying to keep my miles down, and i have just under 24,500 miles in 28 months, and almost 2K of that is from a trip to SC this summer. Usually put 10K a year on my main vehicle, but now that the HD isn't my daily driver, it'll be alot less. Probalby 5K or less a year. Only put 4K a year on my work truck, and i've been driving that alot more, and we also just got a used hyundai that is taking alot of the miles the HD would have gotten on it.
Anyway, we're having a HDf150 meet up at mikes famous on october 26th (saturday) from 1130 to whenever, and didn't know if you wanted to come. Have about 20 HD trucks so far, and we may even get an article in a nationally sold ford truck enthusiast magazine! If ya wanted to bring the truck, or even just come down in something else to check the trucks out, just drop me a line (joshv_85@yahoo.com)
thanks again
