Angry Dealer Strikes again

I took my HD to the dealer today for a free oil change and free fuel fill up, just for returning the Ford survey. After 45 minutes of waiting, the service manager called me out of the waiting room to tell me that one of their porters backed my HD150 into a telephone pole and bent the rear bumper. They are going to replace the complete bumper. I then ask if they had completed the oil change and his reply was " It will take another 1 1/2 hours to do the oil change, because the car on the lift has a stripped drain plug! I guess i should be happy that they told me about the damage ? This is why I do all my own oil changes!!! The free oil change and gas fill up suckered me in....Boy did I learn another lesson today! Thanks for listening to my rant!!!

Sorry to hear about your experience. That really sucks!!

BTW, the rear bumper is supplied primed so it will have to be painted before they put it back on. Make absolutely sure you look at the newly painted bumper and even ask them ahead of time who is doing the work, etc.

When I bought mine the bumper was already a little messed up so they had to order a new one and paint it. Thought I'd share a little insight with ya.

Good luck with it!

Yep, I received my package from the dealer this morning regarding 10% discounts on oil changes and tire rotations. I changed my oil over the weekend switching to Valvoline Synthetic. I threw the discounts from the dealer in the garbage.

I watched a guy at a dealership take out the side of my Dakota on a pole as he was backing it up. He hit and just kept going. Damn morons they put in our cars to shuttle them around. This guy didn't even speak english. I couldn't even bitch him out good.

I don't let stealers do anything unless I absolutely have to. They've screwed me over almost every time I've taken a vehicle in.

That really sucks. I would want more than them just to fix it. I would look to get free gas for a year. I hate stupid dealers or stupid people that work at dealers!

Unhappy getting me worried

I am friends with the service reps at local dealership and have a good relationship to them. Now I'm more worried about my truck being "mishandled" by so called "porters".

The day I was to pick my truck after the dealer installed my alarm, they parked it under the sun next to the fleet of cars. There was an orange cone lying on the ground, and the porter just ran over it with my truck. He stopped and inspected the area, no damage since it crumbled under. He knew I saw him since I was waiting on the service bays, he backed up and put the truck back where it was parked. He disappeared, and then my service rep friend was the one who drove it out of the service parking lot.

But "what if" another bad thing happens again? Maybe I'm paranoid, but hate to see my hard earned money, love and devotion be handled irresponsibly by "Ford Blue Oval Certified Porters"

thats just one of the reasons i do all my own oilchanges and tirerotations and that stuff.

one time when i was up there, i was walking around back looking at some of the new trucks, and i saw one of the guys just finishing washing the blue off the white letters on a new set of tires on a new explorer ( i guess it was recalled) and since there was a lot of water on the pavement, when he pulled out, he nailed it, did a 180 burnout and just about hit another car and pulled off for the customer to pick it up

when i have taken it in for warranty work, they ususally fix one problem and just create another. i hate taking my truck there when they need to work on it

good luck getting everything fixed though

Thanks guy's...it's just frustrating, because I know better than to let them do anything to my trucks. My last "Monter Truck" F250 Crew Cab went to the dealer twice and left with a new scratch each time. I give up!!!

sorry, i almost didn't say anything, but i decided to point it out. nothing against anyone, but the first sentence saying how this guy didn't speak english, followed by how he "couldn't even bitch him out good."
again, i'm sorry, it was just a perfect set up.
