New Guy with some questions about H-D F-150

Guys, I just bought a 2000 H-D F-150 (used), have some questions, OK?
1 My truck has 20" wheels, are these the stock size?
2 Are H-D F-150s lower than other F-150s?
3 I didn't get any keyfob remotes with my truck, do all H-D F-150s have a remote un-locker, alarm?
4 Is the engine any different form regular F-150s (diff chip, anything)?
5 Rear gears the same (lower)?
THANKS, ART

Welcome to the site and congrats on the Truck.

20 inch wheels are stock on this Truck. They are 1" lower than a regular F150. All 2000 HD have the keyless entry system. The engine is the same. Rear gear are 3.55 .

Well...the engine on the '00 and '01 is the 5.4L V8 Triton...Which is an upgrade from the 4.6L V8 which usually comes standard on the Supercab. You should have key fobs...they make life so much easier.

sorry to see ya go Db. hope everything works out for ya, and stop back every once in a while to check things out here and there..

anyway, Arthur6, 1st off, welcome to the site and congrats on the HD!!
mschon is right with the answers. Yes the rims are stock 20x9". The 1st pickup ever to come with stock 20's. Tire size is P275/45/R20

The HD's get their 1" lowered suspension by borrowing the svt suspension of the lightning. the 00 and 01's also have the same type of driveshaft as the Lightning. Aluminum, but just longer.

And yes, you should have gotten the remote key fob. better hope the original owner still doesn't have them

And yup, the gears are 3.55 limited slip.

so when does the modding begin? I know a good place to get 02 HD headlights from and lightning taillights. Then i'd suggest 2" drop shackles from lightningforceperformance.com and a Air force one intake from truckperformance.com. Best prices around so far.

Do you happen to know what truck # ya got? The original owner was supposed to get an owner's plaque with the build#, name, build date, and vin on it, but he probably kept it. Also came with free wool HDf150 jacket, leather giftbox with keychain, and free fiberglass tonneau cover. Get any of these with the truck?

anyway, congrats on the HD!! its one sweet truck!

If you can't get the original fobs from the place or person you bought it from you should either get an aftermarket alarm or go to Ford and get new fobs. the fobs can be reprogrammed which will not only allow you remote access but it will disable the original fobs in the event they get in the wrong hands.

My dad worked for Ford for many years and I had bought a used Bronco a few years ago with no fobs. He got me a new set and re-programmed them.

Congrats on the purchase and now watch out for the mod bug!!

Are you guys sure about the gear ratio? The 2001 and up has a gear ratio of 3.73 where the stock F-150 has the 3.55. Did they keep the 3.55 in the 2000 model truck?

You can find original Ford Key Fobs on Ebay for around $20, tons of them. I bought an extra for my 98 there. The instructions to program/reprogram them are in your owner's manual. Ford will charge you around $70+ for the same thing. I'm assumming that your 2000 uses the same fob as my 98 Lariat.

WTF??? ALL the HD's have exactly the same rims. Ya can't tell from all the pics that they are the same rims? only difference is the 02's have 7 fake rivits on the centercaps. The 00 was the 1st truck ever to come with stock 20's.

I stand corrected!

I could've sworn that I read that the 2002 was the 1st with 20s, never really paid that close of attention to the pics. Now I know!
