Thumbs down First Problem

Well I have had the Truck for a week and a half and I already have to take it in for service. The electronic climate control is not working. I don’t have air or heat. I took it to a dealer tonight but they wanted to keep the Truck overnight. I am not paying all this money to leave my Truck overnight, sorry. I am going to take it to a dealer near work tomorrow. I know they will shuttle me back and forth to the office. I installed my own head unit last week but I can not imagine that this would be related. The service rep from tonight took a quick look at my truck and he did not make any comment about the aftermarket HU. The weather has been very nice here in Toronto so I have been driving around with the sunroof open and the windows down. I have no idea when it would have stopped working. I am sure I tried it out the first day

I guess I will find out tomorrow. What a pain.

Lightbulb

Thanks Josh

I quickly put the factory radio back in the Truck. No point in giving the dealer any excuses. Will post results.

Well I already have the Truck back and everything is working again. On the work order it states that they replaced a jammed harness and something about an open circut. Now I am wondering if maybe I did this when I put my radio in. Opps

I will have to reinstall my HU a little more carfully this time.

Glad it worked out. I think it was wise to put the factory unit back in. Anytime the dealer sees aftermarket or any altering they will look to blame that first whether or not it was your fault. You saved yourself a lot of explaining and headaches.

I lost a foglight a while back (yes...lost...it broke off) and I was a little worried they might say something about my headlight switch mod to have the fogs come on with the parklamps. I knew they had no reason to remove the switch but I still wondered if they would say something when they tested the new fog and turned the switch on.

Anyway, glad it worked out for ya.

Thanks BillP

I put my Kennwood HU back in now. This time I made sure none of the cables where jamming down on the Climate Control. Everything is still working. Now if it would just stop raining so I can wash the Truck.
Josh, you did not come to Toronto and start all this rain did you?

Oh no!!!! Don't tell me the Droughtbuster went to Toronto!!
Actually it's been a long time since we had rain here in Nor Cal so maybe it's time for Josh to take a little road trip. I hate for my truck to get wet and dirty but I also need to water the lawn
