Anyone order a 2003 yet?

I have a chance to get an 03 on the D plan but cannot get a pin until January. I was wondering if anyone ordered an 03 yet and if so what the delivery time would be.

i think 2 or 3 guys here have ordered a 03 HD. Not sure about delivery time, but i'd assume it'll be around the same time the 02's came out last year. probalby late feb sometime. I think they start mass production of the 03's in late november, but not totally sure.

anyway, welcome to the site!!! what color 03 were you thinking about getting?

Any dealership would love to take a $1000 or so of your greenbacks until their even aviliable for consumer delivery.
Can we say % gain... The dealerships are sharks, so watchout!
Just my humble opinon...

Do you mean in terms of service?

I am naive...what exactly is an SVT ford dealer?

i think they have certified mechanics to work on the Lightnings with the supercharged engine, but any mechanic from ford can work on the HD engine, whether certified by svt or not. I'm pretty sure thats how it works. And i'd trust a certified tech that works on alot of L's over any ford tech

Took my 00 HD in for service to the dealer I bought it from and asked them to change oil in Holley S/C. They refused because of the "liability". Told them it was just Gear Oil 80/90, but wouldn't budge. Last time they will see the truck for service and also last piece of equipment I will buy from them.

I am naive also. Can't you take your truck to a diff. dealer than you bought it from? So what does it matter if you bought it from a SVT dealer or not? I am concerned.

yeah, alot of people do if they don't like the service at theirs or for whatever reason.

So what does it matter if you bought it from a SVT dealer or not?
doesn't matter as much if you bought it from a svt dealer, as much as taking it to a svt dealer for service. for basic stuff i'm sure any dealer is fine, but for any problems dealing with engine or drivetrain, a svt dealer would be able to help you more probalby, because they are the only ones with certified mechanics to work on L's (which the 02's share alot with)
i'm pretty sure thats how that works

hope this helps some

Sorry gotta disagree here... just ask around and find the dealer with the best service department. When I bought my '99 Cobra from the nearest SVT dealer (110 miles away) and had some problems they were absolutely no help. Refused to service the car because it had some bolt-ons . Said I would have to take everything off before they would even touch the car. What a bunch a jerks. Took it in to the local Ford (non-SVT) dealer and they took care of everything--above and beyond. IMHO--Just find the best service department and stick with them.

This will be my fourth vehicle purchased from this dealership and their service department has always been great. I think I will give them first shot (if/when). Thanks for the tips.
