'02 Grills

I like the look of the '02 grill [7bars] and would like to get one. Here's the question. I talked to fordpartsonline today and they have one for $170 plus shipping. The grill is to big for UPS so I'm wondering what I'd really be getting. It comes in Dark Shadow Gray or black so does this include the trim around the headlights? My truck just happens to be DS Gray so it would work out just fine. Also does anyone know how hard they are to change out? Thanks

The Grill on my 02 is "chrome" plastic. As far as I know they are all like that, unless it is the lower one.

i'm almost positive it is the entire grille surround (headlight trim and all) its not too hard to swap, but you could also unclip your stock grille and the HD one and swap them. It may be easier than changing the whole surround. I don't know though cuz i've never done one, but alot of other guys have. Good luck, it'll look great

Josh (Harley #356) is totally right about the grill coming with the surround. I did the swap out on my 01 Screw. It takes maybe a half hour or so... not really that hard. You could try to pop out the grill and replace but you run the risk of breaking something.... just my .02 Good luck and yeah it will look AWESOME !!

I don't know why the dealer is trying to sell you the trim, all you need is the grill, I'd give you mine but I had to cut the tabs to remove it. Listen, all you have to do is open your hood, remove the two screws that hold in the radiator shroud. Remove the 7 push clips(they look like plastic screws) Lift up & pull out, they hold in the top of the grills trim. Then you have to remove your blinkers because there is another screw behind them, then I think there are 4 more push clips on thr bottom of the trim. Now the whole nose is off just unclip the grill, that's the tricky part. It should take you 15 minutes to disassemble. Good Luck! P.S. Ther is no way that grill is too big for UPS, that dealer is going to order you a front end, watch out! OOPS, my bad, I forgot once you cut out the original grill, you can't use a factory grill. Just go buy the aftermarket grill that looks just like it w/real metal. The paint on the new grill might not match anyway, sorry
