On my way to work this morning I was stuck in the fast lane behind slow moving vehicle that was taking his time and blocking everyone else in the meantime (there was quite a stretch of distance between him and traffic ahead of him) when I noticed that middle lane will open and if I take it I will be able to pass him politely. So, I gave my signal, changed lane, started passing him, when he "wakes up", starts sliding his nose into my lane practically cutting me off and forcing me to break so I don't hit into him by any chance, and then he gets completely into my lane and swerves around vehicle that was ahead of him in fast lane, all that just inches away from me.

My first reaction to that was "kick his a$$" but considering that traffic was not light I decide patience would be wise in order not to endanger others that innocently share same road. Very shortly afterwards I made him eat my dust without even trying hard.

When things like this happen I usually file them under "another moron on the freeway" category. However, today was lil' different in my eyes cause Mr. "Fast and Furious" was in Ford Explorer Sport. Thefore, I belive he needs to be filed under "Candidates for Most Clueless Driver of the Year award".

I run into morons like that EVERY freakin' DAY!

I guess clueless drivers in the left lane **** me off the most. Ever notice 80% of them drive Buicks?

I mean, I have places to go and people to see and things to do, and why do I have to wait on YOU?????????????? And I don't speed in excess of 5 mph over the limit, so it's not like I'm being unreasonable. I have gotten to the point where I come up behind them and if they don't figure it out, I flash my lights at them...then they usually move over.

And what's with these people who move onver into the left lane two days before they want to turn??????????????

Or the ones who stop at a light or in the left turn lane and leave three car-lengths between them and the vehicle ahead of them?

OK...all primed for drive home now!

 

But I think it has to be the SUK I mean SUV drivers. I really spin them up where I work, asking guys how it feels to be driving their dad's station wagon. They get all blustery and stuff, "That's an Expedition, not a station wagon.." Maybe a little taller, but, with 4 doors, and a rear storage area, it sure looks like a station wagon to me!!

Then you have women driving these things. First it was station wagons, then vans, now SUVs. Remember when it was a man's thing to drive a Suburban? Heck, most of the single girls I know won't date a guy who drives an SUV, since they think he must be married!!

Now I'm sure I will get flamed pretty well, but hey, I'm used to it. My moron story? I'm driving my scoot' and this broad in a SUV cuts me off sliding lanes. I pull past her, and see that she's trying to smoke, talk on her cell phone, and has some kind of white ankle biter dog sitting in her lap.

I served her the reckless driving warrant the next day, and she was convicted of Improper Driving. Oh well......I shoulda just got in front of her and dropped a couple pachinko ***** on the pavement!!

Have you knoticed, that weekends are the worse times to catch slow drivers. In Oklahoma, seems as though all the old men, in thier farm trucks, are out and about, doing 30-50mph in the 65mph zone, then they get in town, with like 35 and 45mph zones and they speed through town, WTF is up with that??????

Or when you pass them, they speed up like its a battle of who can get to the next town first.

 

You guys should try South Florida where people stop for no apparent reason. I like the ones you get behind and all you can see are their knuckles at 10 and 2.

Let me clarify my post: I did not nominate him for "clueless" because he was hogging up fast lane during commute hours or because he was driving like moron after that. Doing that earns him "just another dumbo" bumper sticker at best. I thought he deserves nomination as "clueless" because he attempted "display of speed/power" in a Ford Explorer Sport. Anyone that believes marketing departments that if you purchase vehicle that has 'sport' sticker you will be driving sport car/truck/SUV IS clueless.

 

I still get torqued when drivers around me don't stay consistant...I mean if every one on the beltway is going 65-70 stay up with traffic. Of course since I bought the HD I now simply get in the right lane, crank up some good tunes, flip on the cruise control and watch the a$$holes have fun in the ratrace.

Sorry, PhillyRube but I got to take exception to your all women driving SUVs.

My wife happens to drive one and has driven big SUVs and pickups most of her life and she does not fit in the category you are talking about here. In fact she rides her own Harley motorcycle as well.

I think you need to be careful how you classify things and categorizing everyone into one group. I've seen guys driving pickups, SUVs, even HDs and Lightnings that are morons. Just because you got money and can afford something doesn't mean you can drive.

 

insomniac, it was on 405. I did not pay attention to color, I was paying attention that he does not hit me and traffic around me. One thing is for sure, whatever color he was prior to me passing me became dirt color after I was done passing.

 

hahaha, well I drive a black x-sport but doubt it was me.....but I'm sure it was my dumb a$$ friend that drives a gray x-sport.....hes not to bright and also thinks he has a fast x. He also sux at driving........I say sorry on his behalf

 

BillP, I absolutely agree with you. Having better vehicle just means one can afford it, but that money did not automatically buy better driving skills "included in the standard package". I also agree we should avoid generalizing in every aspect of life even if we feel something is a rule. Just as you can always find some weed in field full of wheat, you can also always find some wheat in a field full of weed.
