Traction is hard to come buy now with 3.73's.
My best time so far is
13.80 @ 99mph in high 80's low 90's.
Evidently Cobra does not have a problem with tire spin. Typically, tire spin will gain MPH in the 1/4. He lost MPH, so he must have his launch perfected. I think it is all a matter of throttle control.
With these trucks making SO much tq down-low gears are only a help if you have no traction problems what_so_ever.
In the past I've had 2.73,3.27,3.55,3.73,4.10 gears in my 3 stang's so I am well "learned" in the effects of gearing.
1.88 - - -I would kill for a short time like that.

With all this talk on mods and 1/4 mile times. Can anyone tell me the best mods for the money. I am on the list to receive an '03 Harley Truck and would really like to know what mods I should do to get me in the 13's. Thanks for the assist in advance.
i'd say start with the basic chip/filter/pulley, but which ones are up to you. Alot of guys are going with the JL ram air intake, and diablo chip though. then there are a bunch of other mods you could do for power. post pics when ya get the new HD
Hi Bull453,
If you'd like to give us a call, we can give you a complete outline on what will be required to take your truck to whatever level of performance you want.
In general, you'll want to get the intake opened up so the engine can breathe, get the boost up (the exact boost level you can run will depend on your location, fuel quality & how you'll be using the vehicle, but figure roughly anywhere from at least 12 PSI to as much as 15 PSI), and you'll need to have the engine properly tuned with a custom chip for this as well. For best safe results, most of our customers vehicles are using the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip with our performance programs we've developed here at Performance. And of course, the engine will need to breathe on the exhaust side as well.
The exact specific parts you use can vary quite a bit, we carry a full selection of everything ranging from the best parts money can buy, to the best "bang for the buck" solutions.
Basically, to get started you'll probably want to run a 6 lb. lower pulley, the Superchip Flip Chip, and the Air Force One intake's setup will breathe more air than you can use. We'd also recommend using a breather cap to vent the additional crankcase pressure (which needs to be tuned for, so use the Superchip to take care of this as well as the rest of the custom tuning you need with the raised boost and to optimize engine tuning) and you'll alao want to defeat the boost dump mechanism, which is easily done. Along with that, you'll want to install a fresh set of Denso Iridium plugs gapped at .040 (for stock ignitions). Those mods are not particularly expensive, and will improve your performance very noticeably, easily getting you into the 13's. From there, you can either stay at that level running 13's and enjoy the truck, or if you decide you want more, there is *always* more that can be done.
If you'd like to go over all of this in detail, please give us a call at your convenience, we can go over all of this with you thoroughly so you can make your decisions from a fully informed position.
Good luck with your '03 Harley, hope you don't have to wait too long!

Thanks for the help Superchips_Distributor. What is a rough $ estimate to get this truck to make the 13's possible?
Is it that easy to get this truck in the 13's?
What is an average 1/4 time with the truck stock?

Bull, I was getting 15.08 1/4 @ 90mph bone stock, with temp of 92.
After working with Mike (see above) I went with AF1 intake,Oil Breather Cap, Line Mod Valve, Magnaflow Muffler, and Superchip flip chip. The result was 14.38 1/4 @ 96 in nearly identical weather. (see earlier post in this thread)
This week, I went ahead and ordered the 6# pulley, Denso plugs and a chip reburn. I won't be able to get results for another week, but I've been extremely happy so far and don't think I'll have any problem hitting 13.xx's with pretty much what is listed in his post above.

Hi Bull453,
The bone-stock 1/4 mile times we've seen in the supercharged '02 Harleys have ranged from about a 14.6 in the coolest weather so far for a couple of the quickest trucks in stock trim, to a 15.3 ET, and usually at about 88-92 mph. In summer heat, most tend to be like what "FlyArmy" mentioned he got in his post, about a 15 flat with temps in the 90's & high humidity, etc.
I have to apologize, as the vendor rules here don't allow us to post any kind of pricing, so for those details we have to kindly ask that you please give us a quick call when you get a chance for that info, so we don't break the rules here. We can go over all of that with you in detail, as we do combos, package deals, etc., as well as individual parts. That way, no matter how far each vehicle owner wants to go, they can get the very best bang for the buck using quality parts that aren't going to compromise the reliability of the vehicle. Thanks in advance for your understanding on that.
Just to be on "the safe side" of your performance goals, figure that you're going to be about a 15-flat 1/4 mile time in Summer heat, and you can drop that by as much as 3-4 tenths or so in colder weather. So figure that to meet your goal of quicker than 14.0 even in summer heat, you'll need to knock off about a full second from your 1/4 mile times, on average. The parts you need to do that are going to vary a bit depending on whether or not you use slicks, or if you do any suspension changes or use traction bars, etc., but the basics we went over in the last post. We carry all of that & can advise you on all of that in detail if you'd like to give us a call when you get a chance.

Sorry Mike (Superchips_Distributor) about asking on price as you can see from my # of posts I am new to this. I will definitely give you a call as soon as I get a chance things are pretty crazy these days.
