scratch/nick on rear console
Well just as I suspected, it happened. When I was putting the car seat for my niece the plastic edges of the car seat rubbed on the front side of the rear console. I didn't noticed it till I was taking the car seat off. There is now a small area, shallow but still noticeable scratch/nick on the rear console vinyl. It looks like as if rodents chewed a little piece of the plastic.
Based on my search, someone suggested using vinyl dye or someting similar. Any thoughts if that is the best way to repair this damaged portion? Before I spend my money on these types of product.
Thanks!

Vinyl?? where at?
are you talking about the hard plastic part of the console? or the leather wrapped lid? From what it sounds like your talking about the hard plastic part?
if so, maybe try getting a screwdriver, and using the handle part (the rounded end) rub over the scratch hard! It should flatten it out a little. If not maybe a LITTLE heat would help?
IF its like whitish though from scratching the plastic, a black permanent marker would be a semi-permantent fix to hide it a little better. hope this helps, and that you get it fixed.

yep! It's the plastic part and NOT the leather part. It does show some whitish stuff and I will try your perm-marker suggestion. Thanks Harley#356.
This is a way to "mask" the damage. I would like to hear more suggestions of a more permanent fix.
