Bone Stock 1/4 mile times.

Well guys, I am happy now. I got a number out of the truck that I am happy with. I don't know what the rest of you guys ran stock, nor do I know what they are supposed to do stock. Last night was 85 degrees with 80% humidity. I droped the spare and took out the bed mat, thats it. No boost bypass, not anything. The only other thing that I did that changed the truck from the time I bought was lower the tire pressure in the rear tires. I ran a 14.75@93. And that was on a hot lap becuase I spun like crazy coming off the line. I stalled it up too much. I am not acting like this is the greatest time in the world. Its a truck, you can't expect too much from it. I am just happy I got a decent number out of it. So what did the the rest of you guys run bone stock?

Thanks for the data. It's always good to have a good baseline prior to launching off into the mod world. Your times pretty much confirm what was reported in Truck Trend for their tests.

Have any of you guys done a pre-mod 1/4 run to get a baseline? I was wondering if I am in the right ball park with that 1/4 time. What kind of times have some of your '02 HDs in the stock configuration been?

Thanks.

man...my first reaction is to throw up a big BS, but I am not going to. You must have a freak truck. Stock Lightnings are doing that stock. I have a hard time thinking the truck will do that with just a chip. But if you say so. Did the chip give you that much more power? If so I am in! My truck dyno'd 313 stock. If the chip gave another conservative 20 at the wheels then that would make it a total of 333. My buddy with his bone stock Lightning ran a best of 13.80 and he dyno'd 366 stock. Well buddy, you have a freak truck. If a 100lbs is worth a tenth on 1/4 mile time and it takes 10hp to gain a tenth then .3 seconds would equate to 30hp. Well that would mean that you have ~400 to my buddy's 366, since you have a freak truck and all. To do that time you would have had to have an extra conservative ~40, becuase of the 400-600lb difference in weight would give you ~440. Then you might get a 5400-5600lb truck to run 14.1@96. Then again you are running 13.1 now with all of your mods. Almost a half second faster than everyone else who have the same basic mods. Look at ken800. He has a pulley, cold air intake, ported tb and plenum, and a chip. His best of is 13.8s and do think he can do better because of the temps alone, but 13.8s none-the-less. Every ten degrees on a blower vehicle is a much improvement, I will say that. But he is only three tenths of a second faster than your stock w/chip. You stir up quite a bit of shiznit on this site with your times. Maybe you should take some video of the truck running 13.1 and post it on here to shut everybody up.

Theres nothing like thinking you have a great running truck and being proud of it and then have someone come along and blow you out of the water with a phenomenal number. At what altitude is the track you are running at?

By the way, I AM calling it BS until someone can prove me wrong. Harley#356, I am sorry if this makes you upset also. This is just my opinion. I am sorry if this pisses anyone off.

I don't recall a correction factor being associated with F=MA, FORCE=MASS*ACCELERATION. The basic law of physics.

David

before anyone calls BS on Cobrasvt stop and ask him the basics of temp and altitude track conditions etc.. you also need to recognize that all engines assemblies and combinations of related power handling components are not equal..there is such a thing as a good motor or one that runs above average

retread, I agree. What were the conditions? But you must admit 14.1 is an astonishing number for a stock truck with a chip. A freakishly good running HD with a 'Wednesday' motor would run at best ~14.60s in 70 degree weather as he described his run.

ok here we go again, but if u recal some one posted somthing on this site along time ago about a stock harley at e town running 14.1 well that was me and it wasn't stock it had a chip , as for the bs if u don't belive iti realy don't care , come to etown and we will race , trust me i have alot better things to do than to bs this board, so look back in the archives and find that thread on some one else posting how my truck went 14.1 so u can see, and my truck has now gon 13.074 to date that is my fastest time. like i said before any one is always welcome to go down to etown to see me run , and i don't apreciate being called a bs er . and if your friend made 366 at the rear wheels and only went 13.8 thats his problem , tell him to actualy hit the gas when he goes down th track

i apologize for any insult. my girlfriend has been out of town for a week. i have been a little wound up lately. youknowwhatimsayin?

bty way, i am in Tulsa which is almost at 1k elevation. you are at sea level and that is worth a few tenths right there.

what are you doing to shed weight? anything?
