Hard Tonneau Covers

Can anyone with a Gray 02 HD with a hard tonneau post some pictures for me? I've been looking into purchasing one, but have not seen any decent pictures on company websites. Any and all manufacturers are welcome, as I have no preference yet.

Thanks in advance!

aight, here ya go...
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...hlight=*******

i put pics of the most popular hard tonneau covers that guys are going with on this site. Not all on gray HD's cuz i only know of one person on here (outnumbered) that has pics up of his tonneau on a gray HD. But they are all on HD's or L's, and it doesn't matter if its a flareside and you have a screw, cuz the design of the cover is still the same, just longer/shorter wider/etc, but basic look stays the same. Hope this helps. let us know what you choose.

you need to start a gallery 1st. then it will let you upload pics into there. Once that is done, i made up another how-to thread on posting pics so i'll find that one for ya when you're ready.

Smile Thanks!

Thanks for all your help! The pictures helped a lot, though I'm torn between the Leer and the ARE. I really like the looks of the Fibernetics too, but don't care for the lock placement.

I have to do more research, but this certainly cuts it down.

If anyone wants to email me any pics, I'd appreciate that too! You can reach me at themaestro@***.net!

Thanks again!

it would help though if you could start a gallery, so i could make up another thread with tonneaus for the HD's ON HD's instead of mostly L's

anyway, dermaestro, i know what your saying about the locks. I don't know why they put it on the top and put 2 locks just more of a hassle and more chance of other keys scratching the tonneau. Also, when you shut the covers, on all the others, you need to manually lock it, on the leer, and i'm pretty sure the ARE, when you shut it, it locks, which is also more convienent.

i guess the main thing to help you decide is, do you want a wing on the cover? if ya do then get the ARE cuz they sell a lsII wing. i had a pic on there, but they must have deleted it.
also, do you like how the bump ends better on the ARE? or do you want it to extend all the way (leer). i personally like the leer a little better, unless there is a wing, then the ARE looks better IMO. but doesn't matter cuz us 00 owners were lucky enough to get a free tonneau

good luck, hope this helps

post pics and tell us what one you choose.

Talking Decisions, decisions

I think I've eliminated the ARE. I like the shape and design of it, but it seems a bit bulky. I'm not to fond of the height of the lid itself. I actually prefer the ARE without the wing. Something about a wing on the truck doesn't look right to me, but that's only my opinion. (I have been known to be mistaken before, just ask my wife!)

Now I'm contemplating between the Leer and the Snugtop. Again, I like the Leer because of the shape, but the snugtop looks pretty tight too!

Either way, gotta come up with some scratch!

I have noticed though, that these have changed a lot in the last 10 years. I have a 1991 Nissan pickup that I put a camper shell on, and it's completely faded. The trucks red and the camper is pink! When it was new, it didn't quite match the truck so I was really concerned about getting a new one on the HD, especially a picture in gray. The pics I've seen in these threads are easing those worries, and the fact that most manufacturers are offering a lifetime warranty on the paint!

Gotta borrow a digital camera so I can get some pics up.

Thanks again!

if you want low profile, get the snugtop (or the ******* if you want it to open further. they look the same, the snug lid doesn't open as far though i think) But the bump on the leer sticks up about as high as the ARE would i'm pretty sure.

tonneau

Check out www.undercoverinfo.com. Great Tonneau. Email from the site and Ray will contact you back. He answered all my questions. There were a few he couldn't answer so he had the owner call me. Wow, now that was cool to have the owner call. I am purchasing mine in a couple of weeks. If you don't like the pics online have them send you info. It show very well taken photos. The local dealer has them for about $650 installed. They only weigh 55lbs. Very easy to take off. I have been real impressed with the company and I am very hard to please. If you have any questions let me know.
