Question Towing with 2" Drop Shackles

I did a search and didn't find any definitive answers on this topic. Anyone know how much the payload/tongue capacity changes with this mod?

I really don't care much for the factory 'raked' look, but I do understand the necessity for increased payload. I changed the rear leafs on my '01 L to the Hotchkis 2" leafs (no shackles) and Hotchkis claims no change in the factory 800# payload. When I towed my 2,800# race car on 1,600# trailor with L and Hotchkis leafs, it seamed to ride OK with no bottoming of bumper stops. Of course, the trailor is double axle with fairly balanced load= less tongue weight. Any insight? Thanks.

i know someone on the other site towed with 2" shackles and didn't like how the back end squatted down, so he got a set of helper bags installed and that fixed it right up. just an option for ya
