got rid of a '01 Dakota R/T - pales in comparison to the '02 HD. Bestg decision I ever made- now I just have to get rid of the chevy in the stable.

Thanks for all the interesting stories and comments. Well it looks like most of us traded up performance wise, while a few of us traded speed for comfort and utilitarian purposes. The "L" does not really have a truck payload or tow capacity (not that it needs one). When I bought mine I didn't care, I just had to have one, cause I was tired of trying to catch one.

Hi all,
First post here...
I traded my 01 Lariat Supercrew, and the Wife's 02 Taurus SEL for Gray Harley #5170...worth every penny!

Actually the Taurus was a giveaway as far as trade in goes...paid $22k for it 8 months ago...only got $14.5k in trade! but what else was I going to do with it? tried selling it outright...what a joke! not even one call. The 01 Lariat held its value quite well, enough so that it paid the negative equity in the Taurus and still had $3k left over for the Harley.

Life is good!

Mitch

99' Dodge Ram Sport 4X4

0-60: about 12 sec
1/4 mile: sometime the next day
I do miss being able to hang a right off the road any time I wanted, but that's about it.

Thanks #356!
I am still checking out the message boards and stuff, I am learning something new every minute! I would eventually like to mod mine..performance stuff like pulleys, chip, airbox, and I also love the look of the lower grille that matches the upper (gotta get one of those!!)

So far the truck has lived up to my expectations quite well...who needs Viagra when you got a truck like this!!

Thanks again,
Mitch

I just traded my heavily 'modded' '01 lightning, silver, for a 2002 Harley. The dealership let me keep the L for 2 weeks, just so I can remove all of the mod's and return it back to stock! Sweet. I also ordered the '02 L front bumper/valance for my '02 Harley.

My wife traded her '99 GT conv for 2003 Eddie Bauer Expidition and my buddy traded his '00 Lightning for the '03 Cobra, all on the same day, same salesman!!

Looks like the mod's found a new home. At least some, anyway. he-hee

I traded a large stack of hundred dollar bills. Everything else stayed in my garage...

HAWGGAWD & lucky4770

HAWG- It seems like we're in each other's back yard. I live in Plano too, been here 6-years come January.

What part of town do you live in. (Major Streets, no need to get too specific!)

I used to live near Frankford & Tollway (North Dallas) Now I am near 15th & Alma Rd..

lucky4770- I knew at least one person out there HAD to have a Superduty that was completely off the chain. You got my vote- Dang that thang is nice!!!!

Cool

Howdy BigHersh!

Just moved over here from Garland about 6 mos ago. I must say it was a move for the better! Over on the Westside near Parker and Coit. (Spotted another gray '02 HD over at that Sonic Sat. night).

I must say that the move is part of the reason I traded the Tundra for the HD. Since we live over here I've started using the HD dealership up in Allen for our bikes. There're two owners for that store and they each own brand new '02s - one black and one gray. I saw the gray one, talked to the owner about it, and sprinted over to the Middlekauf dealership (also in Plano) to drive one for myself. The rest, as they say, is history!

Let me know if y'all want to get a bunch of good lookin' trucks together in this area. You can find me up at Hooters on Thursday nights. Look for an HD bike or truck, one. Good to meetcha!
