L exhaust manifolds vs. HD

Are the HD exhaust manifolds different from the L's. If so are they better. Would they be worth a swap???

I have a buddy with an L. By god I am going to go over to his house and crawl under that damn thing and see what it looks like. I can't believe noone knows the answer to this question.

And the verdict is....

I still don't know. I looked at stock manifolds off of an L today and they had the following casting numbers (remember, these aren't part numbers, but casting ids. identical casting ids means they are the same however.

Lightning Castings:
RF-XL3E 9430 DD
RE-XL3E 9431 EC

Harley Castings
RF-2L1E-9431 CA
RF-XL 3E -9430 DD

One side is identical! Voila! They can't mix and match sides, so whatever the L has, we have.

the manifold casting numbers I compared to my 2002 HD were from a 2000 lightning motor.

I guess that settles it. ONE side is the same
