I could tell you, but then I would have to ki** you . Just kidding. The one I saw has a two tone paint job. I'm not sure in how much detail I could go into and still have a job. I am not sure about the headlights Harley#356 sorry. We balance out the 2002s later this month. The last 2002 Harley rolled of the line about a two weeks ago.

aight, i'll accept the consequences, just tell me

Anyway, can you say what colors? or how it is 2 toned? Is it like my 85, solid color with like a 2ft straight stripe? or is it like a mural type paint job You could always email me and tell me. I'll keep my mouth shut and my fingers from typing! LoL.

also, for the headlights, all i need to know is if they have the orange reflector at the bottom like this year did. I am buying 2 sets of HD headlights from a guy but he doesn't have any corners so i'm trying to find somebody that can get em for me. If ya don't know thats aight.

Must have more info on 02 HD!!! LoL

thanks

Hey KMan,
Thanks for the info (what little you gave us)

Anyway, you said the last HD rolled off the line for 02. What number was it? Did Ford hit 12000 like they were advertising or was it somewhere closer to 10000? I've seen some newbies to the site with number in the low 9000s.

Thanks and we sure don't want to get you in trouble but we are crazy about these trucks

Kman
Well ....... thanks alot.
I'm standin at the proverbial fork in the road, and lookin to the left I see a shinny new gray 02 for $31K (great price, I think) and to the right a really fuzzy, mirage image lookin like an 03. Cheezz .... what color is it? What shape is it? What kinda cool 100th anniversary stuff does it have on it?
What to do?
Should I stay or should I go???
Ya don’t have to give away the farm, but, wha da ya think, Kman??? Buy now or wait??? Yer killin me here!

I say wait! Be one of hte 1st on here with a 03. and then you'll have a low production # too .
many people have wished they waited for a 02 when they bought a 01 last minute now.
I say wait because there will probably still be a few 02's left if the 03 is being revealed in november like i've been hearing. Then you have your choice.

Bill, i'm guessing they did hit 12K or higher. Showya said they built HD # 10K about a month or longer ago.

Kman, do you happen to know the color/# split for the 02's also? thanks

Wow you guys are tough LOL. At the KCAP we build the F 150s, Harleys, King Ranch and the Lincoln Blackwood. And on the other side of the plant which is where I work we build the Escape and the Mazda Tribute. I don't get over to the truck side very much so I am not sure what the last # was, if anyone needs to know I can find out. Sorry guys I would love to tell you guys what I know but just to be on the safe side I'll wait until the first one is run. I will say it's an eye cacther. Also the truck side should start building the 03s sometime within the next 2 weeks.

Thanks, Kman. I know, we are a tough crowd when someone has some info we don't know yet.

If it's not too difficult to find out the last number of the 02s I know I would be interested and pretty sure others would be too.

Thanks again!

I thought I got a good price but I am starting to feel like I got skrewed. I paid $33,995. Although, I do live in the Bay area and everything is more expensive here.

It is also my first vehicle purchase.

Thanks Kman and 356,

Kman, when you say "eye catcher" do you mean 2000 Screamin Eagle Road Glide in bright orange, black and cream or JLow's dress at the Oscars?

356, I think I concur with your perceptive response and (as hard as it is to do) WAIT

Up until a couple of weeks ago I really didn’t think much of um stickin a couple of HD badges on the side and re-workin the interior of a SC. Then I hooked a ride in one ….. HOLY S#!%!

Now I gotta have one! Just hope I can wait for an 03.

Mr Glide, well it shouldn't be that much longer that you have to wait. They are always revealed at a big auto show a few months before they are released to be bought by the public. I'm assuming they will reveal the 03 at the sema show in late october, like they did last year with the 02. Then you can decide if you wanna wait longer until they arrive at dealers, and if not, there should still be some 02's left. I know it will seem like forever, but in the long run, i really think it will be worth it.

4WL HOGG, if you paid anything msrp or under, you didn't get ripped off, you got lucky. There are still dealers out there that won't budge a penny off msrp, or still want above. You only paid a few hundred dollars more than i did for my 00! So that is really good. And Ya gotta remember, 00 was the 1st year, and mine was one of the 1st on the roads in all of this area (only truck #356). I was REALLY lucky to get mine for msrp of around 33K. A month after i bought mine, the dealers realized what they could get for these, and started marking up the prices 10-15K over msrp, and were still selling them 2 months after i had mine, the dealership actually offered to buy my truck back from me for 10K over what i paid! Which means they had a buyer for more! Some people ask me why i didn't go for it and buy another one, but they just don't understand. The instant i saw the truck on the showroom, i knew i had to have it, and when i found out how low a build # it was and it being the 1st year, i wasn't gonna trade it for hte world, especially since if i even did happen to find another one that was for sale in this area, it would be a higher # and higher price than mine. Keep in mind that i'm in jersey too, and EVERYTHING here is priced outrageous. But you are lucky to have gotten a 02 for that price, so don't feel bad.

BillP, yeah i know

4WL HOGG,
Sounds like a pretty good price to me. A loaded 02 is $38405 MSRP and like 3546 says, if you got it for anything lower than that you did alright.

Wish I would've known you were looking. I also live in the Bay Area and hooked up a couple guys with my dealer who has a large inventory and would've made you a great deal with no haggling.

Anyway, sounds like it worked out for you with the price you paid.

Welcome now start the mods!!

I think I would have had to do that..... That's a 30% return on the money in two months.. Sure as hell can't get that in the stock market....
