Sturgis Bound

Truck is loaded, bike is in the trailer and I am ready to go to Sturgis. Got some stops along the way to see fmaily in Dallas and Southwestern Colorado but I will be at Sturgis 8/1-8/11. 4000 + mile trip in style. Anybody else going?

Trailor weighs about 1050. It is a 6X10 that I had made with less height to get a lower profile/weight. Tows great and I hardly know its there. Gas mileage drops from 18 to 17mpg when towing.

18mpg sounds damn good and perhaps exagerated. He does have a 2000 so it does not have the supercharger. I average 11mpg around town and 13-15mpg on the highway if I keep my foot out of it. But that is hard to do with this truck

Exaggerate?

Well lets see. I am in a hotel in Albuequerque NM and I have driven 1400 miles the last two days. Keeping very close tabs on my GAS MILEAGE I am getting 16.7 pulling my trailer. BillP it is not unusual at all for non supercharged 5.4L to get 18 on the Highway. I routinely get almost 19 if I stay under 75. I have several friends in with F-150s and they all get 18+ on the highway and about 15 around town. No exaggeration at all here. No supercharger = less power but much better gas mileage. Sturgis on Thursday!!!!

Great looking trailer. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

Also, where did you get the HD logo/sticker on the front of it? How much?

Thanks! Enjoy your Va-K! Maybe next year for me... deciding on trading in the Mustang on a Lightning, or a possibly a Sportster, Buel or Fat Boy.

Hey Zinc, i see you got the HD bra. Did you get it from Reggy? So many people emailed me about his address i can't remember who all asked me for it. Anyway, he has mirror bra's coming in for those big mickey mouse mirrors for the trucks. Those things are bug-magnets. If you need his address again just email me, if not, just tell him Josh Verdieck sent ya.

Home from Sturgis

I just got back and what a two weeks. Truck pulled just fine and average 16.6 mpg for 4000 plus miles even going over Vail pass at 10,600ft. Sturgis was crazy with many many bikes and bikers. I got to see the cut in half 2002 Harley F150 in Sturgis and I saw the 2002 F150 display in Rapid City. I did pickup a Harley F150 key chain from the cute blond working the display in Rapid City. (See picture)

Took a ton of pictures but most of them are rated "R or X" if you know what I mean. Saw many other various years Harley F-150s but more 2001 Supercrews than any other. I will be there next year. What a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zinc-zag I paid $2800 for the trailer and it was custom made for me. I had to wait about 8 weeks for Haulmark to make it. The graphic on the front is from my local Harley Dealer. I think it cost $35.

F150HD - I checked the Haulmark website and they indicate the closest dealer for Haulmark trailers is in GEORGIA?!?

You're in Louisiana, and you were able to get one. Where did you order yours from, or did they ship it in from Georgia?

I'd like to get one similar to yours. Considering trailering up to the Arkansas State HOG Rally instead of riding this time. Conserve energy for the poker runs and such once we get there, plus you never know how ugly the weather's going to turn in Texas along the way.
