shackles

I just bought a set of shackles from a speed shop in Fort Lauderdale, I am reviewing some of the old threads regarding Belltech ect brand names. The ones the guy gave me have no name on the box. They are a gold color. Does anybody know what they are and should I attempt to install them.

P.S. looking for some quick instructions.

Never heard of goldish color ones. The install is simple. You will need a jack and some jack stands.

You need to raise the truck and place the jack stands under the frame on the rear. I would def block the front tires as well. The you can have the jack under the rear end itself so you can rasie and lower it as needed to get to the bolts on the shackles.

I think there might be some more in depth info with pics under the Lightning section.

I used Belltech's, they are black in color. Only took me 1/2 hour to install. I reccomend highly, looks 100% better.

Did you use the 2" drop shackles or another length. I would like to drop my 02 HD enough in the rear to get it to sit level. Will the 2" shackles do that or are they to much.

They are 2 inch shackles. They are perfect. They sit almost even. The *** end of the truck does not sit up anymore. If you want me to post better pictures I could. good luck

Where did you guys buy your belltech shackles and what price did you pay?

I've seen them online for $50.00 plus shipping. Gonna check my local stores as well.

Just trying to get an idea since truck accessory prices are all over the map.

Thanks!

I just got done purchasing and installing a set of 2" Belltech shackles. BHF was right the install was easy and took less than an hour. My Harley dropped 1 1/4" at the rear and now sits almost level. Kewl! Thanks guys for the help and ideas. It now has just the tinyest bit of rake, I was afraid it might end up lower at the rear than the front. Next up is a pulley and a flip chip. Oh yeah I paid $75 CDN for the shackles.
