Man if its one thing I can stand its posers, Why spend all that money doing that when you can buy the real thing? To me that is just a waste of time and money IMO

1JT posted pics of that expy a while ago. The guy is still off though. By the pinstripes and grille, it should be a 00. Then he has to change the headlights from the L back to the originals, and then put on a chrome nurfbar instead of the black step bar, and get rid of that body molding. And then get an interior. If you gonna make a knock off, at least do it right, not half @$$ like just putting on the rims, or mix match the various years and some L parts thrown in. LoL

 

I agree totally.... I was readin on the "other" board and alot of people seemed to like that setup, I guess me seeing that makes me having one a little less special. Its like me and my bro going to the track and seeing a 4X4 F-150 with L badges and wheels, and running 13's with what sounded like a blower on the engine. I mean I can understand the upgrade on the engine but why in the blue hell do you have to put the badges and wheels on it. I mean the truck is some puke green color anyway, any "sane" person would know its a poser...

 

I disagree (though I was unable to get the link to the PIC to work for me), maybe he feels he is 'Filling' a marketing niche that Ford isn't. He may just want a HD Expy with the extra interior room rather then a pickup. Look at what Ford did, they changed from a supercab to a crew cab, could it be that prospective buyer voiced a need for the ablility to carry more folks?

I have a '99 Expy and a '00 Buell, while I have no desire to 'customize' my Expy to make it appear to be a F150 SC with the HD upgraded motor, trim, etc. I will be making a few 'MODs'.

One of these 'MODs' that I am interested in making is replacing my pitiful OEM head and corner lights with the '02 HD verisons.

I was considering installing either sylvania zenarc xenon aftermarket head and clear corner lights or some off an L but the new HD lights look soooo much better then anything else I have seen.

Anyone out there with a '02 HD?

Do yours 'Light Up' the road pretty good?

Does anyone have a line on where to get then? I tried FordPartsOnline and they couldn't help.

Again, I'm not trying to steal any of the HD head turning thunder (pun intended) I just want to improve my Expy

Well, I found a '02 HD owner that had replaced his lights with Zenarc and clear corners, I bought his OEM units and he installed them while I tried to help. (he is real car guy and just loved to do it, money well spent)

They really make a big improvement to the front of the Expys appearance. I have been considering a billit grill mod but that Harley grill looks so much better . . . .

I alway thought that you couldn't use the same type of wheel on a 2 WD as a 4WD. Looks like the Harley wheels will work on both.

 

It's scary...they work on mustangs too...they just don't clear so that the car can turn...

 

If I had indispensible cash (winning lottery) I would like to make a Harley Expedition. I would replace everything including the interior. I would even put the S'crew rear captains chairs and console in the back. i wouldn't use a 4x4 because it wouldn't sit right. I hate posers just as much as the next guy but if it's done right and doesn't claim to be anything its not (i.e. custom badge with expedition label) it's alright. I've seen Harley rims on L's here on this board and it looks wierd to me but I don't get worked up about it.

 

i'm with you abullerm. If i had the money, i'd make a HDexpy, or a HDstang, or a HDwindstar (well, not really ) anyway, as long as they do it right, i don't mind it, and they don't say ford made it as a one of a kind and a bunch of that bs. I admire it when they put all that work into making a true custom one-off HDexpy and do it right. That guy still has some work to do, but he's getting there. I thihnk somebody on the other site knows him and said he IS doing the interior next.

o yeah, wanna hear another SCARY fact (i'm pretty sure the HD rims have the same bolt pattern as a dodge shhhhh! don't tell!)

and if it fits on the stang, it fits on the ranger also i believe.
