#9876...Maybe...

Well, I think my search is almost over. I finally found a dealer that would deal, and had what I wanted in stock. They have a Black HD with all five options, and I can get it for $200 over invoice. I had them wash it today, and I spent about on hour drying every inch of it, while checking for damage.
The only bad spot is the driver side rear door. Where the handle bolts to the door, it has rippled the door skin a bit. Unfortunatly, almost every HD I have looked at is this way. I checked the roof seams, and they were perfect.

It was raining when I was there, so I didn't drive it yet. I hope to test drive it tomorrow. I have only driven one once. Is there anything negative I should be looking/listening for? I don't want to have to take it back for anything once I own it.

Since Ford screwed us on the 0.0% deal, I am still working on interest rates. The best I have been offered is 6.9%. Has anyone seen anything better in the last few weeks?

Unfortunetly, it may be Monday before I have time to do the deal. This is going to be a long weekend. I guess it will give me time to make space in my garage. It sucks to have a 6 car garage, and only 2 cars stay in it...

When you test-drive the truck listen for wind noise through the front doors. Mine is noisy and it drives me crazy! My 1968 Mustang has less wind/exterior noise. I will be taking it back to the dealer soon to see what can be done to stop this from happening. It is rather disappointing to have a new expensive vehicle with minor noises that should be non existent on a 2002 vehicle. Two hundred over invoice should put you at about 33-34K, just to make sure the dealer is not stroking you!
Good luck!

I'm with you. I can't stand a lot of wind noise. I will pay close attention to that.

I actually looked at a real invoice a couple of times. It is 33901.88, and I'm getting in on this one at 34101.88 with no goofy dealer add-ons.Of course there is no getting past TT&L...Thanks

I got to test her out today. I was really pleased with my short run. I didn't get her on the freeway because traffic was too bad. Everything seemed very solid, and no abnormal noises.

I did hear a few strange noises that maybe you guys can help explain. There was a this really high pitched kind of whistling noise that was coming from under the hood. Then there was some very deep rumbling noise coming from the rear. I also noticed some squeeling coming from the tires when I took off. There was also a lot of silly giggling coming from inside the cabin. Anybody have these same strange noises???

Go to Peoplefirst.com for financing. I just bought a new car using them and saved a point and a half off what you quote. All done via the internet, check next day. I've used them a couple times. Excellent outfit.
