'02 Steering Wheel Jeweled Ford Blue Oval

My '02 HDF-150 steering wheel does not have the jeweled Ford Blue Oval in the middle of the airbag. It has an impression in the airbag cover like the Blue Oval, but of course is just black. I looked at two other HD's on the dealer's lot, and they both have the jeweled Blue Oval. Did I just get the wrong steering wheel, or are HD's getting some of both steering wheels? I'm thinking of going back to my dealer to see if they will change it. What's the deal?? Thanks.

I know the HD's that were 1st produced to go on fords show circuit had the jeweled oval. But then the mass of them after that didn't. I like the jeweled on better, but i have seen pics of 02's with it, and more without it. Not sure what the percentage here is though. But no, you didn't get the wrong steering wheel, you just got the cheaper one . Its like some of the 02's have the curved A pillar handles, and most of them have the boxy type.

Hey I was there! I was curious when someone would post this issue at hand?

It seems once again Ford Motor Company has changed over to the 2003 airbags since they have depleted their remaining inventory guys.

They do look sweet and all they are is a metal emblem that clips into the air bag assembly. Do Not Attempt to remove one from an airbag, could cause well.......... you know!

Here's a pic of my steering wheel of my 00 HD. See the center of the wheel, on the airbag cover, the little ford emblem? Thats what we are talking about. Some of the 02's have this same steering wheel. (sorry about the quality, it was scanned)

Such as Mystery Fan's truck. Its not jeweled

Here's a pic of one of the 1st HD trucks that was revealed to the public. Its got the jeweled emblem, but also, the L steering wheel, and 2 toned, also, its got the regular pedals, and old style under part of dash, and the curved o S#!+ handles instead of the boxier ones...go figure

Here's another 02 HD that is on the showroom floor now with the jeweled emblem (#8xxx). So the very very early HD's came with a L wheel and jeweled emblem, then HD wheel with jeweled emblem, then 00 wheel without jeweled emblem, and then back to jeweled emblem. Can't they just stick to one design. LoL

hope this helps some.
