Lowered your Harley???...

I am looking for some factory Harley front coils to drop my stock SuperCrew 1 inch. For those in SoCal who have lowered their Harley, would you be willing to sell your stock coils?

just a fyi, the HD front coils are the same as Lightning front coils, so you may want to post this over in the L forum too. They both use the 1" drop SVT springs. Hope that helps.

Thanks 356,

I posted a topic in the suspension arena about 2 weeks ago and asked if the L's & H's had the same stock number, but there were no replies. My concern would be the front weight difference between the Lightning and the SuperCrew. I really appreciate you clearing that up for me...and possibly others too!

Yes, our trucks even have the SVT stickers on them. Much of our added 500lbs of weight is distributed towards the middle of the truck, so the front axle shouldn't see all that much added weight. I would imagine that you'd pick up the handling of a stock SC, but would obviously fall short of our lighter more balanced brotheren, L's.

4DrLightning,

I just pulled up the weight info on the 2 trucks (2001 models) and found that the Lightning is actually heavier in the front than the Harley SCrew:

2001 Harley SCrew: Curb Weight- 5,075 lbs with 49/51 (Frt/Rear Distribution) ---- Weight on front ~2,487 lbs

2001 Lightning: Curb Weight- 4,670 lbs with 57/43 (Frt/Rear Distribution) ---- Weight on front ~2,662 lbs

Thanks everyone for your responses...I appreciate ya!

Area 52, just fyi, the reason the 01 L is heavier in the front than the 01 HD is cuz they weren't s/c. The 02 HD's will probably be closer in front weight to the L's with the added s/c and intercooler weight that the L has also. Just a fyi, not sure if you know this or not, so just posting it. It shouldn't affect you much though. The svt springs should still work.

I've got some!

I'm not sure if I would want to sell them though because I've kept everything else that I taken off or exchanged on the truck. Depends on how much you would be willing to pay.

Harleyboy,

Thanks, but I just made arrangements to buy some Lightning springs from another member. I really appreciate your offer!
