Is premium gas a must on a 2002 harley?

yes. and buy stock in whatever gas company you plan to purchase from.

I beginning to think the high pitch whine that I get from pressing down the gas pedal is really the fuel flowing through the lines at a high rate of speed.

No doubt!!! These things are fun to drive but sheeeet man, they hog the gas. My blown cobra gets better mileage, and I drive it with only 2 throttle positions.......none and all shes got.
