2003 HD *Colors*

So I was at the dealership today for a scheduled maintainance on my '01 HD and was talking to one of the salesman. We begun to speak of oncoming specs on the '03 HD for next year and he told me that the colors will be Black and White. WHITE!!! I didn't believe him but didn't want to be rude or anything so I just said "really?...are you sure about that?" and he was like yeah.

So the question is...has anyone heard this news?...I think it sounds ridiculous...that would be UGLY - It's not even a Harley color. Dark Orange would be a more ideal color then WHITE.

Hi All,
I just ordered a "special part" that i will be getting in the next week or so. I will post pics as soon as i install it..... The guy there told me that they were making a "fatboy" version" . That Aqua / White combo. Now of course it could be B.S. but i sorta belived him the way he spoke about it. We will see in a few months......

Hmmmm?

I wonder what their source is? I talked to my dealer guy today too. He is the inventory control manager at the dealer I am trying to buy from. He tried to order an 03 for me, and the system won't allow it. I asked him if they had released any information about colors, 100th anniversary edition etc. He said he had no information at all yet.
It makes me think they my be speculating, but don't know for sure...

If theres one thing ive learned since Ive purchased my truck it is, DONT BELIEVE THE DEALERS!!!! Their F.O.S. (Full-o-****)
They would tell you its gonna be hot pink if they thought you might come back to find out more. Thats their job. Getting people to come back to the dealer to spend more. Ill believe it when ill see it.

I agree with you 100% Db, you can't trust what the dealer says for $#!+. They will tell you anything. My dealer told me that they weren't going to make the HD's for 2002, and look what they did. Don't trust any of them, because until the actual truck is revealed, we won't know whether its a 250, expy, f150, mustang, minivan , or what ever.

personally i think they will just keep the same 2 colors, maybe add a third, keep it as a f150 and s/c and offer a bench seat in the back as an option, and some other small cosmetic changes, and like 100th anniversary stuff. But that's just my speculation, you can't trust it, because its just my guess. Thats how all these rumors start. If anything, i could see silver, but not white. we will see come late october

I hope they were wrong...I don't want to see white - I think they will keep the two colors and do some badges and small stuff like that

Only change I have heard is that they are release a special edition Firefighter version. Will be Fire Engine red and can only be order if you are a Firefighter or are friends with one that will go to the dealer with you.

My Uncle works at a Ford Dealer in San Bernadino and has heard the same thing.

Thumbs down FULL-0-****

Firefighter edition my @55. Do you really think Ford is going to make trucks for firefighters only. I think not. They would be at risk of being sued by anybody else that wanted one. There are millions of ways that someone would be able to sue Ford and win. Thats like saying their only gonna sell trucks to me because im white and not you because your black.
If the trucks are county or city vehicles thats a different story. Then they are government work vehicles and would most likely say it. And just cause you are friends or family with a firefighter wouldnt mean ****. I cant go buy a police car just because half of my friends are cops.
HAHAHA this is some good ****. You guys need to shoot your sources.
SOME STORIES ARE BETTER OFF UNTOLD!!

Sorry if I offended you, But im just getting the facts st8 from the Law end of the spectrum. Its not gonna happen. Yeah maybe people can get away with giving a firefighter a t-shirt or a hat but thats a gift and it is not considered Public trade. Now if you were to open up a store that sold t-shirts that are just regular t-shirts nothing special to firefighters only then your violating the rights of everybody else and disrupting the Laws of free trade. Im sure youve heard of someone sueing someone else for the dumbest reasons. Thats any excellent excuse to sue. refusing to sell a vehicle thats on the Public trade market because you dont fit the standards. DISCRIMINATION MY FRIEND.
P.S. Dont take it so personal.
Ive been known to be an, and I quote Dennis Leary "A55Hole-leole-leole" some times. Who doesnt?

I dont take to much on the internet seriously, and I wasnt offended by it at all, it just seemed as if you came off as an a$$. that is all. I can see your point about the legal part of it though.

If its against the law to sell a vehicle only to a specific group of people, how does harley get away with selling the "peace officer edition" only to cops? This is copied right off of their web site:

Harley-Davidson ® Peace Officer Special Edition motorcycles are offered only to current, or retired, law enforcement officers. Officers must verify current (or retired) employment, name of agency, rank and badge number (requires photocopy of police I.D.) Contact your local Harley-Davidson Dealer for additional information.

And I believe the FireFighter edition is the same way.

Just curious.
