2000 Harley

Looks like someone is going to end up with a nice ride for little money. I noticed they posted a picture of the driver seat wear (the pic is included with this post). My truck shows similiar wear and I only have 7k more miles. Does this concern any one else? Let me know how you feel and how many miles are on your truck. I have 16k and it looks similiar to this truck.

PS I like the orange flame decal on the beer window.

The image is a GIF from an early Harley F150 site. The original has the F150 to the right side like our emblems. I just Photochopped it out and placed it under the shield. It was a very low quality image so it doesn't look very good when enlarged above 50 pixels. I have been thinking about creating my own vector based version so I make it as large as I want.

LOL, I had created a similar image of the older HD F150 logo, but I didn't really like it...

if anyone comes across a really good image of the old logo please e-mail me or post it on here ( jerseyvics@aol.com )

thanks,

Jerzey, i was just checkin out the registry, its lookin great! I like how you redid it. But i still think you should split up them by years instead of s/c and non s/c, , but it still looks great.

Anyway, yeah, that 00 is a GREAT price if thats close to what it goes for. My Driver's seat shows some wear, but no where near that amount. That one has a ton of creases and wrinkles when you look at the blown up pic. Maybe its cuz i use leather conditioner and cleaner every 3 months and he didn't. And i have 20K miles on mine. His tailgate also looks like it has alot of scratches on it, but it might just be the angle, but aside from those two things, the truck is in great shape. I also noticed he changed his tailgate emblem too.

*edit* jerzey, are you looking for a picture from ford of the 00/01 emblem? I can look on one of my discs with pics on it to try and find one for you.

It just looks like normal leather to me, check out what he said "The interior is in Mint Condition showing no signs of wear what so ever"

I wouldn't worry.

The leather looks good. I've conditioned my leather in my previous vehciles at least once a week. I'am talking cleaning, then conditioning and they all still showed the creases. What conditioning does is prevent cracking which would concern me alot more than creases.

yeah, the leather still looks fine, but it looks to me like he hasn't used conditioner/cleaner, cuz that looks pretty worn in for 9K miles, but is still aight, and probably nothing to worry too much about. Mine has some creases, its just normal wear and tear, but that one has a lot more, and i have just over 2x's as many miles as him.

I use Turtle Wax Emerald Series leather conditioner/cleaner. Smells good too. What is everybody else using? Lexol??? Just curious. I'll probably try something different next, cuz my bottle now is almost empty. Probably one more use left, so i'll be getting some more soon. Thanks

I use Lexol. The cab has that good leather smell after I use it.

About the drivers seat

I spoke to a tech. at my local ford dealer about that when I first got my truck (It had it then) and he said that thats because the drivers seat (like everything else on the driverside) is made of tougher material. Thicker Leather. The thicker leather is stiffer then the other seats and creases much quicker but is stronger in the long run. I wasnt sure if he was BSing me so I called My Ford customer support and they said the same thing. I guess if your really not happy about the creases then you can Vinyl that little section and it shouldnt crease as easy.

Db,

That thing about the thicker leather is a load of crap. I had both seats off when I installed seat heaters, and the two thicknesses were near identical (according to a digital micrometer). I've learned to believe very little from what I hear from anbody at at least MY dealer.
