Re: Drop shackles...

Priced a set of Bell Tech 2" drop shackles for my '00 H-D F150 today, $80.00, seemed a bit pricey compared to some previous posts. Ground Force were $60.00. Decided to wait and seek some advice here.

Will the 2" drop put it level, or would 1" suffice? Since the roads around here aren't the best, I have no plans to drop the front.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

FXDX, www.lightningforceperformance.com has the beltech for 50 dollars and 10 shipping. I believe you can drop the rear either 1" or 2" with the setup. I think 2" will just put it level. Thats what alot of guys are doing, and thats what i'm going to be getting. Hope this helps.

o yeah, welcome to the site. Very informative here, and addictive too. LoL. Anyway, what year/number HD do you have?

Yup. $50 plus shipping for Bell Tech shackles. Had'em here in 3 days . Had the dealer install them before I even took delivery. I originally had them set on 1"-- it's not enough, the ***-end still stuck up in the air. The 2" drop looks much better--still slightly higher in the rear, slight rake--looks real nice. I highly recommend Mark at LFP--straight up guy, very pleasant to deal with. Good luck and welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome and suspension mod info. Bell Tech seems to be the hot set-up. I'll check it out this weekend when I've got the time.

As for my truck, It's a 2000 Harley-Davidson Editition F150 #7921. I picked it up in January of 2001 at a little dealership in Northeast, PA. Since then I've put a whopping 6300 miles on it.

By the way, in response to a previous post, the front factory mud flaps do not fit because of interference with the nerf bars. I did however, with some modification to them, make 'em work. They look better than straight aftermarket flaps and provide some protection for the nerf bars. I'll post some pics of the toys when I get a chance.

Later

Mike

yeah, definately post some pics. I wanna see how the mudflaps worked out.

anyway, geez 00 HD number 7921? You've got one of the last HD's. I don't think they went very far into 8K at all. Well keep it clean.
