Db682, is there a web site for those gorilla locks? I have a set of the fords now, but with all this rim boosting going on, even if its far away, i was thinking about getting another set. Thanks

Wantmorespeed, they don't number the rims individually so they cant be tracked, at least im' almost 100% positive they don't. But they should (o yeah, not sure if i misread what you said, but its 6K for the set, not a pop. LoL, just a heads up )

o yeah, i thought I remember reading some talk on here about fuel cut off switches to prevent somebody from stealing their HD? Does anybody know how much this would cost to do?

Don't know exactly what the thread was on that, but a guy I knew from South Africa put a switch on the power to his fuel pump.

He had it on the floor so he could just trip it with his foot when he got out, and when he took off running away from the car ( this is before they shot first, take car second ), the car would die and not restart.

Don't know if that is what you are refering to or not...

Any word if the local PD got those clowns or not.
It would be nice to see them hung up in the town square by their 'member'.

whats the shock sensor do? You should hook something up so that when sombody touches the rim they get zapped. Heck, wire it up to the whole truck, so when you turn the alarm on, people won't get too close drooling on the truck, and if they do. ZAP! LoL

glad to hear you got new rims though.

Do wheel locks work anyway? I bought two used cars that had wheel locks, but no key. I removed the locks with some vice grips. Are there ones to deter this type of vice grip theft?

Harley#356, didn't see you question answered..

Summit carries the gorilla line, did not look specific for the ones for your truck.
The gorilla web site is : http://www.gorilla-auto.com/

SuperSCrew_820, I don't really know one way or another if Wheel locks work. Earlier in the thread I noted the lock nut removal tools that body shops have, these do not dammage the rims.
If someone wants something bad enough, they will take it.
The alarm and wheel locks, IMHO, are just to keep honest people honest, and the lazy dishonest people off your stuff.
Someone that really wants your rims will get them.
A good car thief can by pass a car alarm in something like 7 sec ( a 48 hr show I think is where I saw that ), don't know about others but I would not wake up.
With the alarm by passed, it is off to the races with the rims, and anything else they want. then again that secenerio is a professional thief, who might be jacking $ 80k Mercedes for overseas delievery rather then messing with a set of rims....
Just yet another 2 cents I have <g>

Thanks SSCULLY, i'll have to check that out.

And yeah, i agree with you, if a crook wants something bad enough, he'll get it. Wheel locks will just keep the amatuers from stealing them.

That blows bro! I'm going to buy locks TODAY...

I DID buy a spare rim online from a dude for $200. He stated that it had been damaged by a dealership and the owner demanded they replace it.

I inspected it before I gave the UPS man the cash. The damage is only on the bolt holes and it's only scuffing of the bolt holes... No big deal really. You would not even know it unless you looked for it..

I think the rims have serial #'s on them. I'll take another look at this one.

Hope the rim from ebay did not come from FL

Was that rim shipped from FL ?

I think there was another guy ( maybe noted earlier in this thread ) that got his rims jacked also.

Might want to check it out...hate to have you buy thier stolen rims.....

kind of hard to dispute the guy from eBay, but I find it strange that the dealer changed out the scratched rim, and gave him the pull off, considering the cost of them.
That is one hell of a freebee.

Whoa, I was just looking on ebay and someone has 2002 Harley rims for auction.

Place called "The Wheel Exchange"...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1836968767

They are the 2002 with the slightly modified center caps.

May be worth checking into to see where they go them..
