Door Ding

Here's a pic of my passenger side door just below the handle. Got this last december in a parking lot. I still parked way out in practically the middle of nowhere, and someone still parks next to me and hits my door. I'll have to see if i can get this pushed or hammered out so i don't have to get the door painted for the 4th time!!! yes 4th.

Once at the factory,

once at the dealer cuz they put it on a lift and left the doors open and someone hit the button by accident and it almost ripped the door off or something like that, didn't get the full story on that one. Something like 2 grand in damage from reading the repair slip.

And then paint job number three was cuz someone keyed my passenger side door and front fender when she was about 2 or 3 months old. (what posses people to do that, i'll never understand it). And there was also a paint defect on the bottom of the door so that worked out well. (even though they put 90 miles on my truck the next day before i picked it up...boy did they hear it that time, i guess they though i was stupid enough not to notice) But the good news, they did it all for nothin, and ACE ford has one of the best body shops all around so it still looks great.

Next i gotta take it in to get the roof water chanels fixed cuz there are paint cracks in that. (check yours, i've heard quite a few people have the cracks) When will it end, but at least its still lookin great and no other problems beyond the dent and door issue

Do you guys think this dent can be hammered or pushed out? Its kinda close to the edge so i'm not sure, but i still wanna get rid of it. Not bad though, only one dent and no noticible scratches in 2 years

Sorry about the dirt, needs to be washed

Thats not a ding. I drive my truck every day and got bumps and bangs, dings and dents all over. im getting a cervini hood cause ive got a fist sized dent from a coconut falling and hitting it on a jobsite. HA HA HA funny huh. A fuc king coconut. Anyways Ive also got about 30000 miles so I dont let it bother me. Its a truck. A nice truck. If I was gonna worry about dings and dents id leave it in the garage. Anyways when it gets to bad ill get if all fixed up and sell the bit ch. Besides there buzzards, sea gulls and pelicans around here that eat pebbles and they love my truck. Its like target practice. Pisses me off but what am i gonna do.

Db682, obviously you and i have different views on the truck. It seems like you just see it as an awsome fast truck, but still just a truck. I see it different. I couldn't ask for a nicer truck. I love this thing and try to keep it in perfect condition. I enter it in about 3 or 4 shows every summer so i don't want scratches and dents or dings in it, so thats why i wanna get it removed. Last year at Pitman auto show a newspaper person who was doing an article on the show took a pic and put it in the paper as the new 2002 Harley F150 that ford just came out with. Felt pretty good that the reporter thought the truck was 2 years newer than what it really was. We just have different view points on the truck, you said that when yours gets too bad you'll just sell it, well i don't ever wanna sell this truck, so thats why i wanna keep it as nice as i can.

Mystery Fan, i'm hoping that they will cover it. I remember a L owner a few months back said he had the same problem and they fixed it no problem. Next time i'm in there i'll ask.

Yeah, i'm gonna go out to the dealers next week sometime to see if they can put the HD emblem on my tgate for me, and ask about the roof chanel cracks. He said before that they have a guy called dent doctor that stops out like every other thursday and fixes dents. He had a dent in the door of his 01 HD and said he fixed it perfectly. He said it would cost 70 bucks though. I'll take your suggestion and look in the yellows for a cheaper price. How much did it cost for yours? I won't have it done for the show on saturday, but hopefully i can get it done before my next show in the beginning of july. Thanks alot, and wish me luck.

MysteryFan and any others, Ford should be responsible for the channel cracks in the roof. I've had my roof repainted TWICE because of it. Not even the same dealer, I bought my truck in TX. Anyway, they'd have to paint the entire roof to get it right. Warranty covered.
