I hate all of you 02 HD owners! Jusy Kidding the local dealer just got in an 02 HD and all I can say is I have nothing but envy and jealousy towards all of you 02 owners. Not knocking the L's or anything but the 02HD is far and away the best looking truck out there. Saddly the dealer won't let me test drive it or an L for that matter as they are "to much truck to test drive" and the fact they know I can't afford it and only serious buyers get to drive them. Dang, sounds like the dealer was kinda a jerk. I just drove up grabbed some literature and went to lunch to think it over. Afterwards I walked in and asked for the keys...NO BS, no driving with me...just me, myself, and the HD thank you. My wife and I have owned a 01 Lincoln LS, 01 F-150 Supercrew, 02 F-150 Supercrew FX4, and a 02 jaguar x-type and I make sure to look like crap when I goto the dealership. Being in my mid 20's and wearing bluejeans and a t-shirt has been a good test for some of the dealerships. They either take their chance and cater to you, or they don't get my $$$. I know quite a few wealthy people and they don't wear suits and ties, drive BMW's or Mercedes...just good ole boys with lotsa cash and Fords...some chevys but that's a different subject..yuck

 

Blake Bowden, was it literature on the new 02 HD??? What did it look like if it was??? I try and collect anything HD F150, so if i know what it looks like, i can go bug my dealer for some. LoL. Thanks

 

True story
I got off of work one morning and went to the locl LM dealer intending to buy a Navigator for my wife's birthday. I had every intention of buying it. Went in, looked at it on the showroom floor, got in it, played around, opend the doors and the hood, climbed under it to see if I had worked on the tranny ( I put a mark on some I work on) etc....

Three slaeman are at a table playing cards, slaes manager on the phone, so I wait awhile.

After 45 minuts I go into the sales manager's office, tell him I came to buy the Navi but if he didn't want to sell it I'd go somewhere else. I went across the street and bought an explorer limited instead, that day.

I hate being treated like dirt because of how I dress. I make mid six figures and wear jeans because I can and if they think it means I can't afford the car, screw 'em.

oh man, you dont know the half of it..

Let me start by saying Im a 21 yr old white guy with dreadlocks. so some people assume negative things about me right off the bat just by looking at me.

I bought my 2000 hd used 2 months ago. I call the dealer about the truck and he was of course ready to do business. we talked for a while about the truck and what he could do for me, seemed ready and willing to budge for me. I go down to the dealership to look at the truck.. he sees me, and immediately his attitude is different.. a little more stern.. said several times "are you sure you can afford this?" I thought it was funny.. Im sure he assumed I bit off more than I could chew, but I walked out of there with my truck. Im pretty sure he thought I couldnt afford it.

Part of the fun of how I look is I get to prove people wrong on a daily basis. the bad part is I get alot of flack wherever I go. like for example, everytime I get pulled over my car gets searched. some people just like to profile others instead of being open minded to the fact that looks arent everything.
