Hey, newbie Question?
Hey Harley guys,
I was wondering, is there a registry for you guys out there on the Net? I would propose starting one since it would be super easy but don't wanna make a fool of myself if there is one already out there. (If there is of course something out there I'd like to link to it from my site so I'm really curious)
Also, how come none of the Jersey Harley F150 owners ever show up for our meets??? Do you guys ever go, or you're just not interested? If you need an invitation I'll be glad to invite you to our next big meet at JDM's with the rest of the SVT's and other Fast Fords....
Ok, please let me know since I'm obviously a newbie to anything about these trucks.
Thanks,
--Russ

Hey buddy, I'm about two hours North of you in Bergen Co... I'm always at the local meets here that we put together or the SVTOA... I'm also in Central Jersey pretty often as well, hanging out with the Central Jersey Mustangs and Fords Club guys...
I started a registry roundabout January of this year for a couple of my SVT Lightning guys that I met at the local meets, than it expanded a little bit and pretty much grew to cover all SVT vehicles, Saleen, Roush and SHM cars... right now there's over 250 cars. Thanks to Doug from SVTLightnings.com my registry was mentioned in MM&FF Magazine so that was really cool, but they didn't want me advertising the registries on these boards too much so thats why I even took the logo from my signature out...
If there's no registry for the Harley Davidson F150's I'd certainly like to start one!!! I see a ton more of them on the road than I see SVT Lightnings or just about any other cars in my registry so it would be worth a try...
If the guys from this board would be interested in it the format would pretty much be similar to my other registries: www.svt.jerseyvics.com but of course fit the Harley Davidson edition... it should be cool.
I'll just need a picture of your truck showing the whole thing (some people send me like bits and pieces of their truck and I'd rather see the whole thing) this picture would be resized to a small thumbnail which will link to your Photo Gallery, if you don't have one I would highly recommend starting one right on this board, I believe its FREE, which is awesome... Also to be included your first name and state where you live (ex: NJ - Russ ) and include the year of your truck plus the BUILD # from FORD. (ex: #50 out of 7500) you may also include your homepage or web site that you would rather link your picture to if you don't have a photo album... its fine with me...
Ok if anyone is up for this just e-mail me: jerseyvics@aol.com and I'll start it tomorrow and build it to your guy's liking...

If your ever in south jersey area, drop me a line. anyway, whats exactly the point of a registry? Never belonged to one so i dont know what its all about. I'll join it though if your gonna start one. Just let me know when to get a pic to ya.
Harley#356 - what I believe to be a registry is simply a listing of the trucks based by build #, and specified by their owner's name and location. I know of people that do registries on their sites, infact I have two major links from my registry to them, one is a SVT Contour registry and another is Yellow Mustang Registry and I believe those two are a little too invasive on people's privacy.
The way I do it is show a picture and identify that picture by a build # and owners first name and state so that no private info about the owner is made public... than I link that picture to either the owner's web site or online photo album and therefore if the owner wants others to know about him he will be displaying whatever he chooses to put on his or her web site... you know?
I really like the registry Idea because it shows the trucks (based on build #'s) how they were build, sequentialy and where they ended up.... like on the Cobra R registry there are a few 2000 Cobra R's... like build #154 and #155 that are both in Texas, I thought that was a really interesting coincidence... or that 2000 Cobra R's build #3 and #4 are both in Michigan... I think thats pretty cool... Plus for the people that are on the registry they are able to see other's in their area and try to meet up in person or whatnot, but don't take me wrong I don't set up my registries to be a dating service, LOL...
BLWN_HD#34 - thats really cool, it always helps having some people to help start the ball rolling. You guys could send me the following:
- photo of your HD F150
- year and build #
- your first name and state (ex: NJ - Russ)
- your web site/homepage or online photo album address
- if you Own a Harley (the bike) try to send me a pic of the bike with the truck, that would be really something... or you can send them separately, I'm trying to figure out how to best show off the two things together...
mail this stuff to: jerseyvics@aol.com and be pretty specific I get a ton of mail so it would help if you include all of the things above so I don't have to bother you by e-mail, heh...
Thanks guys, I'm gonna start working on it right now... I want to make the registry on a black background... so its totaly different from all the other ones I've build, but the idea will be the same....
If you have any ideas please pitch them in, we'll build it together as we go along, just let me know what you would like to see on it and I'll do my best to integrate everything... I'm also sending a few e-mails out to Ford and Harley Davidson to make sure they don't have a problem with me using their logos.
thanks guys, you're great!

I've got a suggestion for the site. I was checking out the cobra R section of your other one, and it would be cool if the pictures went in order according to build number, and then year. So have all of one year together (like you already have) but then make them go in sequential order according to build number. That would be pretty cool.
Trending Topics
hey Josh, they do go in order, only in the other direction. You see they go by the NEWEST car build, and the car with the highest build # is the one that was build later than the car with the lowest build # (at least thats how it will be with 2003 Cobra's... they will be build sequentialy) I thought it would also be better this way because usualy car's #1 and #2 are owned by Ford/SVT, and they're not in the registry...
Each car is also broken down by individual years, and for example Cobras are also broken down by Coupe and Convertibles... the Lightning page has the most options because that one I also broke down by states where people live, since I do it all manualy it just gets to be a pain in the butt updating all those pages every time I get a new adition thats why for now I only list them by year...
Ok, I've started working on the Harley page and this is what I came up with: www.harleydavidsonf150.jerseyvics.com
let me know your initial thoughts, if you'd like I will make the build #'s listed on this page go down from lowest to highest, LOL... Its up to you guys.

looks pretty cool, i personally think it looks backwards when the build numbers go from highest to lowest, but it doesn't matter as long as they are in order.
Also, another suggestion for the home page, Instead of the big Harley F150 Supercharged Emblem you should put the Ford/Harley alliance logo like on the front windshield of the 01/02's there and put that emblem under the section for 02 HD's, feel left out cuz 00/01's aren't s/c.
Lookin good so far

you know I just realized that and found a logo of the pre-'02 HD trucks... without the supercharged part in the logo... I'm working on it right now to create a different page...
where would I find the alliance logo?
also, could you send me a picture of your truck that you have in your gallery, except without the writing on it... I believe it was your "sig picture" but I really like the way it looks with the black headlight covers and all... can you send me the original picture so I can use it in the registry?
thanks,
keep the suggestions coming!

I'll send the one with out the writing to you tonight, along with the alliance logo from i believe the ford website, or fordharley.com or harleyford.com something like that.
I think the site looks pretty good so far. Its a great idea. If you need anything let me know. Ill try to help as much as possible. Im curious to see if anybody from daytona signs in. There alot of HDs here.
My pics are on a disc, so i'll have to get them to ya in the morning. ANyway, i was just checkin out the web page, and it looks great but i still have another suggestion. I'm not trying to pick at every little thing here (cuz you can make web pages and stuff WAAAAYYYYYYYY better than me, and it looks awsome so far) but i'm just trying to help ya make improvements and work out the bugs before hand, so i hope you don't take my ideas and opinions the wrong way.
Its about the emblems for naturally aspirated engines, and the one for supercharged ones. What if someone has a s/c 00 or 01 HD, would they go into the s/c section? Then you would have mostly all 02's and a few 00 and 01's thrown in the mix. I still think it would work a little better if you divided it up by years instead of s/c or non s/c. That way all HD's of one model year are in the same section. Maybe put a pic of a 00 HD a 01 HD and a 02 HD as the "click here" icons on the home page and get the pics for it from the ford website. I have a pic of each year in my pic album from the ford site (1st or 3rd album) labeled "poster". Again, i'm just giving suggestions trying to help you make improvements, but the site looks great so far. Good luck constructing.

Harley#356 - hey thats a really great suggestion. I was initialy starting out like that but didn't fully realize that the Supercharged thing was too new... lol At any rate I will add the listings by individual year a bit later on when there's more trucks listed on the registry.
Db682 - hey I just added your truck to the registry... this is the thumbnail that links to your f150online.com photo album:
tell me if you like or dislike that picture ( I just picked one from your gallery ) or if you want me to change anything... I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.
BLWN_HD#34 - hey whats your first name bro? I already have the thumbnail picture ready but also wanted to confirm the build # on that baby, is it #34? (I'd imagine but still wanted to ask...)
thanks guys!
--Russ
PS. if its easier to just post your pictures on here instead of e-mailing me you can definitely do so... as you can see I just need a picture of the truck, the build # and year, and your first name with the state you live in.... all the information you see displayed on the site is what I ask for, I don't keep any databases or anything on the trucks or people... heh
