Just curious.
Any one know what is different in the Lightning engine to make it more HP than the HD?
Someone told me there was 2 more lbs boost in the Lightning. Is that true!

Yes, indeed the difference in HP is mostly caused by the larger blower snout pulley which reduces the overall boost by 2 lbs. compared to the Lightning motor.

 

i'm sure the computer is programmed differently...

 

The HD exhaust is more restricted too.

 

geez this topic sounds familiar. lets see how many i can remember
1. pully sizes different
2. chip different
3. exhaust longer and more bends
4. different muffler
5. smaller lower grille
6. license plate in front of lower grille if you have em, whereas the L's have the front plates on the bumper itself to let more air in.
7. Bigger gap between top of bumper and bottom of grille surround to compensate some for the smaller lower grille
8. WEIGHT

that's all i can think of off the top of my head. I know we've had a thread a little whiles back about this if you go back a few pages. May be a few things missing
