does it show it every time? or do you have to re enter the code thing every time you start the vehicle???
i gotta try this
o yeah, wasn't there something in there about the fuel amount? anybody figure out how to decode that yet?

Once you turn the car off and pull the key out...it resets to the Odometer
Here is fuel code ------------------>
Displays the code (0-255) for the fuel sender input to the HEC. The fuel gauge will display a filtered fuel level value. This filter will keep the pointer from moving suddenly or erratically.
255 open send +/- 0
232 full stop +/- 0
215 Full mark +/- 10
178 3/4 mark +/- 8
138 1/2 mark +/- 7
93 1/4 mark +/- 5
41 E mark +/- 4
54 Low Fuel (0-59)
0-18 short (0-20 max)
Why don't you try it!?!

If any of you's have the link to the site with codes, post it please, but i couldn't find it. I wanna know what all the codes mean. This is sooo cool.
THanks alot for posting the info clonetek. Thats friggin awsome. Truck will be 2 years old tomorrow, and i keep finding out new stuff about it.
Keep it coming. LoL. Just a few months ago someone posted about the tricks that the radio can do like find the top 40 songs automatically and stuff. I love this truck more and more everyday.
I tried it today, DAMN!!! i'm going 100mph @6000RPM in Park!!! LOL.

I get OIL and 000 with the engine running. This just can't be right. Anyone else get this?
Gonna have to take it in. Anyone know what could be causing this?
At least they can fix my left mirror signal light which stopped working.

ROBSMST, don't worry, if its showing 0 when your truck's running everything is fine. All the things run in code, except for the RPM and speed. I think those are the only ones that aren't encoded. The codes for everything is here http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/99hec.htm
code from link for oil gauge:
"Displays the code (0-250) for the oil pressure switch input to the HEC. Oil pressure gauge will indicate present oil pressure. Normal oil pressure (greater than 6psi) will display a value between 000 and 176. A low oil pressure or an inoperative engine oil pressure switch (less than 6 psi) will display a value greater than 176. "
so if yours shows 0 when running everything's fine. Mine also says 0. I think it says 240 or something like that when the engine is off and key in accessory position.
Nothing to worry about
hope this helps
ANyway- My speedo is off!!! Its right on at 10 - 20 mph range, but it shows 28 mph in digital when i'm going 30-32 on the analog dial. I'll have to try it out on the highway, Hopefully it doesn't get farther off the faster i go, and its just that little section there. No big deal though.

Tried it on my sister's 00 focus. Its set up a little different cuz the digital readout is set up different, but it still works. I guess it will work on all 99 and up fords.
now this is what i can't figure out. How come on the 00 and 01 HD the speedo is only to 100. the 02 HD only to 130, and the L to 140, and a little four banger in the focus has a 140 mph speedo.
Pretty stupid to me.

Thanks Harley#356!
I can rest easy now knowing that the zero reading is normal.
As far as the analaog vs. digital speed readout, I noticed the same thing after 30mph. There seems to be a 2mph difference all the way through 90mph (which is as high as I took it).
At least the analog is 2mph higher and not the other way around for speeding purposes I guess it is better to be going slower than we think, keep us away from Smokey.
The analog tach seems to be a mor accurate reading than the speedometer. Just tried sitting in park while holding the engine rpm at the 500 and 1,000's all the way through 4,500. Was very close.
