yes, BLWN_HD#34 has the hood that i am going to get. Can't wait until i can scrounge up enough dough, and find someone to paint it for me. At least cervini's is only about 20-30 minutes from here so i don't have to pay for shipping

nice pics hdf150painter. the hood looks great. got a link to your gallerY? thanks

I carry a box of swiffers in my truck for dusting the interior. Works great pulling dust out of the vents, radio etc. They even do a good job on the seats (having a kid that seems to have crumbs follow here wherever she goes, eating or not) they pick up everything. Going to try the pledge mitts next time. By the way can you use the liquid glass after you've waxed the truck?

Question Hairline Scratchs

What are some good tricks for hairline scratchs. I parked under a tree the other dat and came back and the fukin tree was blowing against the truck and scrathing. I used windex and newspaper on the rims of my older car for about a year and then starting getting a yellow/orange color appearing in them and stoped. I called Boyds and asked if that was a defect with the crome and they knew right away that i was useing a product with ammonia or chlorine in it. The windex had ammonia in it and caused it. They said to use mothers or something of the sort and that the newspaper and water trick for no streak look was fine. I was also told that it isnt a good idea to clean hot or warm rims with any chemicals(soaps, cleaners, etc.) because the chrome coating is like skin and is more porous when warm and that the chemicals may cause problems if they contact the underlying rim. Beats me if its true or not but i did have much better results once i started using the mothers.

Buy the compressed air in a can at any computer store (used to blow out keyboards, fans, etc.) and use it along with the paint brushes to detail the radio and other dash buttons. i use the stuff for lots of things...better than your air hose with a compressor because that probably has too much pressure or oil in the lines.

iwannaplay, you can't use the liquid glass after you waxed the truck because it is a different type of polish? or something like that. You would have to get wax remover to get it all off of the truck first before you can use it. Liquid glass sells that too though. Alot of work but it is well worth it. I've been using liquid glass on my truck since i got it, and its got about 12 coats on it and 3 or 4 on the cover. Its cool cuz after you put it on the truck, your supposed to let it sit in the sun for a few hours, and the glass actually bakes on to the surface. Its got the best shine i've ever seen, even better than any wax IMO. and i've gotten plenty of compliments on the finish and shine to back it up. Its expensive though, 20 bucks a can, but its worth it for my baby.

and yeah i use mothers mag and aluminum polish on the rims. best stuff out there for chrome. .

hope this helps ya out, let me know if you decide to use the liquid glass

Questions about liquid glass

I have two questions about the liquid glass. First, does it show the swirl marks in it like wax, after a few washes/buffs. and second, is it safer to get on the plastic moldings than was or does it leave the same residue?

Hiya Harley#356!
I already put on Mothers liquid class a couple of weeks ago. I'm assuming this is something different or am I wrong? Boy I sure would hate to have to go through that again so soon. Took me 10 hrs. I also thought about something to hide those little annoying scratches that somehow end up there when the kids all say they weren't playing near the truck. LOL. I made a real mess out of my stone chips with the touch up paint, but what can u do?
Cindy.

FireScrew, the liquid glass does leave white on the plastic if you not super careful, but a little peanut butter gets it right off (read 1st post in this thread about the peanut butter) Also, it will leave streak marks if you wash it like 2 or 3 days after you glass it cuz the glass may not have had enough time to actually bake onto your finish, but it buffs out easily if you do need to wash it a few days after you glass it, and it hasn't been sitting out in the sun. But once it bakes on, it won't smear or streak like that, and its the best stuff out there IMO.

iwannaplay, the only company that i know of that makes liquid glass is Liquid Glass company. The tin can that it comes in is gold with a white front and red cap. it has a picture of a red 64 vette on the can too. But since this contains no wax in it at all, it won't stick to your paint right unless you strip the wax you have off your truck first with a wax stripper. (liquid glass makes that too and i believe you do it just like if you were waxing it). But believe me, the work it would take to strip the wax, would be well worth it cuz this shines like a friggin mirror.

good luck
