people like the look of the lightning taillights on the hd. I like them, but I want something a little more unique.. these taillights have caught my attention.. what do you think of these? and I wonder how the carbon fiber will look like in contrast with a black truck. I like them because they look sorta classic. dont know how to describe.

definatley not my type. they do look classicish, but i don't like em on a HD. i've seen em on a 00 (i'll try to find the pic and post it) and i don't like em at all. a little to ricy for me. they'd look better on a nonHD. www.f150world.com has some clear tails, the L tails, adn those space craft looking tails that you posted. The clear ones they have look sortof like the L's, but are much cleaner looking IMO. its in the website store over there. Don't wanna start a flame or anything, just my practically worthless opinion. Let us know what you decide though. and hey, it may look totally different in person. i'll go look now for that pic

I want to see a pic of them on a truck before I buy them. the main reasons are because here, Ive seen more than one hd with the L taillights, and at least 2 with the other euro non-L taillights. I think I have the only factory red taillights around here in my town . I wanted to go the unique route, not with the crowd. the onlything I think that would make it look ugly is that the carbon would be grey against the black, which may make it look crappy. If I decide not to get these, Im prob going to stay stock until better ones come out.

they have them in chrome too.. not to into the chrome ones at all.

They look like ****. Theres a guy here in my town that owns a performance shop and has them on a supercrew.Damn is it nasty. makes me want to laugh when i see it. Save your money. Please!! Dont disgrace the look of a beauty with some mutated Nissian maxima Hyundia Tiberon crossbread ****. Not trying to be a **** or anything but if you saw it you would say the same.

 

i'll get that pic to ya as soon as i can so you can decide . i'm not a big fan of carbon fiber on the exterior, especially on the taillights. I just don't like the projection thingies on those particular tails. here's 2pics of tails that i like a little bettter than those

i like these better than the carbon fiber ones just cuz the chrome and reflector strip, but i still like the stockers or L's better

btw, ever think of slotted taillight covers for your truck? that's what i have and they make a huge difference believe it or not.

haha yeah I know what you guys mean. Im really iffy about the carbon, I think it will clash.. they make them in chrome too, but Id have to see them on a truck. I saw pics of the chrome ones on a truck that was on f150world.com .. didnt look horrible, but the truck was mega-riced out so it kinda fit.

I love how the round lights look like they are screwed on or something.. thats totally my style.

I may just go for the slotted tail lights (I like them on harley # 356's truck) and then get clear front corner lenses. thats definately a must.

 

I don't think they look good at all. If I were you I would go with the L tails.

Im just going to hold off. I dont want to get the L lights, cause everyone has them. well, not everyone, but that would be everyones #1 choice at least (obviously).

who knows, these things could look bad ***, but I dont want to risk 200 bucks to possibly be let down you know..

 

shifty, i'd say go with the taillight covers if you dont see anything you like right now out there. hey, for 20 bucks, the covers look great, and maybe in like a few months or a year someone will come out with clear tails that you really like, and in the mean time your tail lights look a little better with the slotted covers. They are constantly comming out with new styles of taillights. I got my covers from v-tech, and they also make matching slotted ones for the front corner lenses. I gotta pic up a set one of these days so it matches more. Good luck deciding. here's a pic of my 00 and my friends 02 so you can see the difference side by side.

 

hey shifty, i believe i found the taillights that are "just your style". you did say that you liked the screw in look type taillights right?. i scanned my stylin concepts magazine for ya, the tails are on teh bottom left. I looked inside the catalog, but couldn't find em. I'm assuming they are APC, cuz there are alot of APC tails in this issue, but they dont' show that particular one. I guess cuz they have too many to show. I'd suggest checking out their website. Let me know what you think. i hope this helps.


they would really match on the 02 HD's with the screw type centercaps on the rims.
