Does your 2002 HD Have a 20" spare ?
The 16" spare for the HD is the same size as a stock truck only the rim is black. I think the 01 spares are the ugly grey stock spare, correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah the 00's came with a black 16" spare, but the overall height is the same as the 20's w/ the low profiles. I believe abullerm is right about the 01's 16" spare being gray instead. It wouldnt' make sense for ford to put 20" rims that they sell for 1,050 a piece as spares under the truck. So they all have steel 16" spares, unless like del, who bought an extra 20 to put under there. WOuld be neat to have as an option though, 20" spare. but then i'd be crawling underneath to clean it.
Ford would need to provide a shroud to go around the spare if it were matched otherwise I would take it out and carry it in the bed if I had a locking tonneau. It would be interesting if you could find a steel 20" rim for a spare. I believe the Lincoln LS had a full size spare option that had a matched rim but I think it took up much of the useable trunk space.
I'm planning on putting my spare on a 20" Harley rim under the truck. However, I'm aware that I want it to be locked and remain clean.
I'm checking around to see if any businesses in the area can manufacture a ABS plastic or fiberglass shroud to attach to the bottom of the truck around the spare. Really all I need is a large tub that the 20" spare will fit into and use the tub as a mold.
I'll let everyone know how it goes..
P.S. I'm having Innovation Fiberglass make a hard cover for the bed. I'm gonna call Carlos and see if they do custom work. They also do boats and stuff.

Now that my tire size is 275/55/20 (32" diameter) I will be using an extra 17" (265/70/17 32" diameter) sawblade rim from my Expedition. My new tires add Beef to the truck. It filled the wheel well & I have a little extra rim protection.
Ya know that little hole in the bumper near the top left of the rear license plate? Ford sells a lock cylinder for that, which would lock your spare inplace. (i'm pretty sure thats where it goes, but i do know they sell lock cylinders for the spare tire). Not like many people would be looking under your truck, and happen to find a spare 20, and then if its locked, sit there trying to hack it off, but it would be cheaper than trying to cover the WHOLE thing. Whats the point of paying for a 20" spare if your gonna hide it anyway. I think the chances of getting a flat that often that you'd need another rims that matches would be pretty low. just a thought
But would it be worth it not to drive through town with the spare tire. Especially if you have the gray rim. Luckily they haven't invented a donut version of the spare tire for a full size truck or we would all be rushing out to get an extra HD wheel (or the 18" knockoff).
