Lights in center console
Ok, first off, wrong board but since most of you guys have bucket seats and the center consoles, youo can appreciate this.
I got tired of always fumbling in the dark looking for stuff in my center console. Overhead dome light not any help IMO. So yesterday, I stopped at my local Radio Shop and picked up some stuff. I found some little light sockets that hold E5 bulbs.(I think that is the size) The sockets are threaded and a nut holds them in place. I took of the outer console shell. Then in the front of the black inner console you can drill the plastic and put in these sockets. I place one aimed toward the back and one aimed down. I got the smallest toggle switch they had and installed it in the little stubout where you attach a CD disk player. I don't have one. When you open arm rest nothing is visible, but flip the switch and it lights up nicely! Mine is wired hot off my CB that way I can get something out of truck at night and not worry about having key on. Best $5 I spent lately..
PS, took all of about 1 hour with soldering. Outer shell covers all sockets and wires.

I read your other post too in the other fourm under "LED's in door handle" by sharky99 .. thats a good one too ... did you light up your cup holders too ? I'd like to do the door handles , but unsure about removing the wood trim pieces and still be able to reinstall them . However the cup holders and inside the console I can probably handle without too much problem. Got any pics ?

I will do some pic next week. I can usually find the door handle ok, so not doing them. The console is done and makes all the difference in the world. I am going to do the cup holders tonight. I found the light behind the pull out ash tray in the dash and am going to splice into that for my cup holder LEDS. It is dimmer controlled. Very easy mods but well worth the final results IMO.
