IMO

I would not go more than a 3/2 or 3/3 drop or your ride may start to suffer. Of course this is only if you want a better stance and handling.

Some folks like to slam it low. I did a 3/5 drop on my chevy ext-cab and that lasted 1 day.. My kidneys were not amused. So I went back to a 3/3 and it was exactly what I wanted.

I plan to drop my HD rear by 2 inches to level the truck. I HATE THAT NOVA HOTROD LOOK!!! I may go with the 3/2 drop from Bell Tech.

Whatever you decide. Make sure that you get quality parts. If you still have a factory warranty. You may have to use authorized parts. I'm not sure if Bell Tech parts would void the warranty.

3/4

I went with the 3/4 myself, and it's just about perfect. Don't know which kit I actually bought but, it seemed like a quality kit. Everyone seems to think Belltech is good. I'll try to post pics this weekend. BTW, the kit I bought was blue in color, if anyone knows who makes this.

We used some bolt on shackels for race cars and stuff, i will have to get the brand name. They had lots of holes in them. We ended up using the 3rd hole which gives the truck a nice lvl look. I will get the part # we used and brand.

Just for clarification, my drop is a 3/2 vs. a 2/3. I used Belltech coils and hangers w/ Nitro shocks all the way around. My recommendation would be to use the 2" shackles vs. the hangers. The reason I did otherwise is a really long story. The kit was around $350

I used Bell tech 3/2 kit. consiting of the following (Bell Tech p/n):
4804 front springs
10022 front shocks Nitro Active (what ever that meana)
6418 rear hangers
6700 shackles
10535 rear shocks Nitro Active

Bell tech also recommended an alignment kit p/n 4952 but I have no idea what it is or if the shop used it. Big O Tire did the installation. Cost was $1020 complete.

The truck looks way better but do not kid yourself, the ride suffered. Not so much that I will go back but it is deffinately stiffer. Now it rides like my 56.

I agree that shackles are the way to go for the rear. I prefer them over hangers any day. They are cheap and easy to install. Take you 20 minutes to do it.

I used drop leaf springs with shackles on my last project. That was a half day project but the results were great and the ride was actually smoother than stock. New bump stops are a must with this installation.

I may look to replace the lower control arms for the front and keep my stock coils. Not sure which way I will go. Aftermarket lower control arms look really trick when installed and painted. Wheel alignment is easier too.
