New Tires

Has anyone installed Toyo Proxes S/T 295/45/20 tires on their Harley? I understand they also have a good rim protector ridge. Not the least to say they look good.

I was looking at the Toyo tires, but I said to myself-Why put on a Japanese tire on an All American Truck? Lets keep America in business as much as we can. I ended up putting on Good Year Eagle LS 275/55/20. I now have rim protection. I can send pics.

I have them on my Harley rims. The American tires just can't compete with a treadwear rating like Toyo's. Sorry but I'm not going to buy American when they don't make as good a product. However, by far the best rim protector is on the Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires, and they do make them in that size. I had a set of 18's with them on, and they were very nice.

? for dufunnel:

Did the tire shop have any troubles mounting the 295 rubber on the 9" rim?

And...

Where did you purchase the power slider kit or is it from the Blackwood.

No problems at all mounting the tires. In and out in 15 minutes. The power slider I ordered from Southwest Ford at www.oemfordparts.com . They had the best price on it. It is not from the Blackwood.

The Supercrews are all built in Kansas City. I can't say I know about the Supercabs though. The 2000 HD's may have been built in Canada.

Yes, the 2000's were built at the Oakville, Ontario plant in snowy Canada.

along with all the L's...but not for long as Ford has announced closing down the F150 line in Oakville. Could change as sales improve tho.
