Billet Fuel Door

Guys,
After a little manipulation the Ford Factory Mustang billet fuel door mounted perfect. It 110% fits the look and feel of the truck. I know that there was some rumor that it wouldn't work with the Screw, but not the case! If anyone is interested, I would be happy to explain how I did it.

Greg,
Yeah, I checked that option out too. I decided to go with the billet. If you have some pics you can post I would love to see what the chrome looks like.

EDHarley,
could you email me with the how-too's?
I've wanted to get one for my SCrew, but was told they won't work. If you have pics, that would be great!!
Thanks.

Would be happy to. I do not have pictures from the actual install, but I think I can describe it pretty well. I will post the details as soon as I can.

Hey Greg,

I only see the one picture of the HD. Do you have a closer up picture of how the Blackwood door looks?

Thanks.

Yeah, it is the same fuel door. I went for the the brushed look rather than the chrome bc you can always get it polished if you want the chrome look later. The Blackwood fuel door is the same cost as the billet one though. I will try to post those how-toos tomorrow or Sat. at the latest.

Cool

Hey fellas... the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood fuel door arrived express post today "Downunder" and has been fitted to my 2001 HDF-150. Hey it looks the goods now with the billet chrome! I'll see if I can post some pictures in coming weeks.... don't have the digital camera yet... us Aussies are spending all our Oz dollars on Yankie trucks! so I have to do it the old way using the scanner of the Kodak pics.

Thanks for the advice. HD logo mats look hot as well!

Take care

Chrome Fuel Door

GREG OAK,

It appears that the part number you provided comes up as a "Rubber Pad Support" when I queried it on "fordpartsonline" website. Are you sure the number is correct?

I know this thread is a little older but I would really like to know what you had to do to get this to fit a SuperCrew. It looked like a fairly radical mod to make it flush and attached at both ends.

G'day Gear Head,

The billet chrome fuel door was quite a simple change over... unscrew the hex nuts holding the other one in and then fit the new one. It sits flush, slightly to one side so you can get your fingers in to open the door to put the gas in...mine is the HD2001 F-150.... should be same as std supercrew

All the best...

Bullitt Fuel door

I just bought a Bullitt fuel door for my 2002 King Ranch Supercrew. Could anyone tell me what they did to get one of these to work on there supercrew. I know it's been done but from what I can tell it's not even close to fitting. The rubber bumpers that pad the stock fuel door are too long and make the new door sit way our from the side, and the plastic pieces that come on the Bullitt door do the same thing when I took off the rubber bumpers.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn
