Actually, I own a 2001 L and I am hoping Ford sells every new 2002 HD truck they make. Perhaps if they sell 12,000 (to folks who might be tempted to buy an L because it has the S/C but they need four doors) Ford will be nice enough to cut production on the L's and make them somewhat more collectible. I also feel that of those 12,000 new HD's a few of their lucky owners may be bitten by the speed bug and this just opens up the aftermarket that much more as folks can produce things for these trucks and justify it with some volume - like 12,000 potential customers a year. More power to you guys with the HD trucks - just don't plan on blowing by me anytime soon!

Struck in AZ, i don't think ya have to worry about ford selling all the 2002's. i mean the others went out so fast, it was hard to find one. ALso i dont think many people would be modding the s/c hd's too much. Its nice to have a little extra pep but they are so heavy as it is and with the s/c it's gonna be a gas guzzlin beast so i don't think you'll have to worry to much about us blowin by ya in your L.
Harley#356,
In Arizona quite a few of the dealers had (and may still have) HD's and L's left...I looked at both of them and decided on the L (much to my wife's chagrin since I just bought her a "grownup" car - a Lexus GS300). The dealers here were, for the most part, willing to deal on both and either could be had for about $28,500. I won't argue with you about which will continue to be Ford's performance "flagship" but the new HD definitely looks bad azz. Besides, what's better than spanking the young punk in his Dakota R/T like a red-headed step-child with your whole family along for the ride in a new HD?

Afternoon, Harley#356
Actually, I've been using #650 since July. Was on the other "F150" site for a while, until I found this one. Lots more going on here....
Got a 2001HD, and I love having the 2 buckets in the back. This way I have an excuse in not hauling a bunch of kids around

I know i'll have a bunch of people disagree with me on this, but i just had a stupid idea. I think it would be pretty cool if all us hd owners could make our screen names harley#and whatever number harley you have or 2000harley#_ and 2001harley#_ and 2002harley#_. it'd would show umm somethin.
i dunno just a dumb idea i thought up cuz i'm pretty bored right now. i guess i'll go wash the truck

I want people to buy me a beer too 8>)
Actually I think it is great that the harley is getting a little more bite. I have always like the HD trucks but thought that Ford should have given them more engine. As for owning one..........................way tooooo much black for me to take care of.
You guys have a really nice interior but doesn't get to be like a million degrees in there in the summer?

cslinger, you're right about the black being alot of work. i wash it one day, and the next it's dirty. it doesn't look bad from a distance though when its not clean. the worst is the tonneau with the condensation in the morning, then when it drys its crazy waterspots. The 2002's grey probably won't be as hard to clean since it will hide the dirt better. as for the interior in the summer, with the tinted windows and all, it suprisingly doesn't get that bad
