Don't know why i'm posting, but i'm bored so i guess i will. I was coming home from work today, and i saw another harley parked at some dude's house so i decided to stop by. I had no idea who this guy was, but i went up and knocked on his door anyway, and we ended up talking for like half an hour. He had the L head and tails, bedliner, no cover yet, and tinted front windows. What i was wondering was how much does it cost to tint my front windows, and how much can i tint them so they are still legal? Also, if anyone has any pics of how dark i can go and stay legal, i'd like to see em.

 

I have 50% on my windows. It is just right for interior sun protection & looks dark enough from different angles. Nothing under 35% is legal in Mass. If you put 35% on, the factory glass has about 7% tint in the glass so there would only be 28% light transmittances.
I used to have 5% on my Town Car until the state police pulled out their flashlight (which I thought was a gun). This tint was so dark @ night you could not see the people in the car next to you. The dark tint looks but not worth it. Also it is checked during state inspection stickers. I will try to send pic.

 

Tinted front windows in the State of New Jersey is illegal. You will NOT be able to pass New Jersey Motor Vehicle Inspection and you can get ticketed by NJ's Finest...

 

Harley rules, do you know what % tint i can get in NJ? It can't be none at all, that would suck too much. And also, how much did it cost to get your windows etched, and where did you get it done, and how much, sounds like an awsome mod.

 

You can't have any tint on your front side windows in the state of NJ.....
The window etching is a decal (looks good) and cost was 6.50 with shipping. Got them on ebay, made by someone in NJ..
