2003 f150 harley davidson / seeking buying advice

Hello alI !I
I am new to the forum as I have my sites set on a particular 2003 HD F150 .
Im going to be honest. I am not a Ford guy...but I am a Harley Davidson guy .
I have never considered one of these before...but I came across a cream puff. (46,000 miles).

I need someone to talk me out of it. lol

Lots of insane upgrades.
SCT Air Cleaner
SCT mass air flow sensor
ACCUFAB Throttle body.
Ford Racing Short tube headers
MotoBlue under drive pulleys
Full magnaflow exhaust
SCT Computer Programmer
DYNO tuned chip
Pushing 506 hp
This is not to mention the guy owns a body shop a it has a show quality paint job and a stereo that would rival a Kiss concert.

Please understand, this will be a daily driver for me. This has been a toy for the current owner.
I will be the one to roll up 150k - 200k miles on it.

I see mixed reviews about the reliability of this SuperCharged 5.4.
Seems like something I am going to have to monitor very closely.
Is this something to stay away from???

What can I expect, regarding maintenance costs?
Do I need to run premium fuel?

Any advice most appreciated.

It depends on the price.

I don't know if I'd trust a "modded out" truck to be a reliable DD, especially if your work is more than 10 miles from your residence, when you can't use other means of transport.

With that being said, not sure where you live either.

You also have to realize that you are looking at a 15 year old truck.

If you are mechanically inclined, maybe. But again, it's now a complicated truck with all those additions. So it's not like a stock truck.

Max I'd pay for that 15 y/o truck would be $7,500, only because it's been messed with so much and not to mention again -- it's OLD. I'd feel comfortable in the $5k range, and saving up extra cash to fix it when it breaks (like your own personal warranty).

That is a collector vehicle, would love to have it, but not as a daily driver. Not with the mods to it. I would keep it as a show truck and drive it occasionally.

That's kinda where my head is too.

My daily round trip commute is about 50 miles (Atlanta).

I am mechanically inclined but have to time to tinker with this. So any maintenance required I would have to send to a shop.

The owner seems to be VERY meticulous and I am quite certain all up grades are top notch and "right".

He has gone from 25k down to 19k on the price.

With standard HD equipped 2003 F150

High Kelly Blue book is 18k (Trade in value 16k)

So Im not far away from reality here...and if he drops to 17k It will be hard to resist.

Sweetest truck ive ever seen

If you can swing it and have a garage for it, get it and a cheap beater. Something about hat can save in gas. I have always wanted one of those trucks.
